Thanks!

It probably has 128mb of dedicated video memory. So the amount the OS actually sees is 256. What I really want to know though is at boot with no apps running how much free RAM is there. phoric, can you let us know? Please go to start->settings->system->memory and let us know how much free RAM you have after a soft reset. Thanks and congrats on you new device!

Hey Killmaster9, can you check on the 1st tab what is the ROM date?
08/29/08
I think Killmaster9's X1 is a prototype. So the ram is 256MB. The rom date is old.
Dear phoric, Can you post the RAM size of your retail version X1?
Here the official blog said that the RAM is 384MB, we shoud trust this:

Questions re: the speed etc… The device has a graphics accelerator, a 528 Mhz processor and 384 megs of ram (so it should be as fast as anything else that is out there.)

This review says that x1 has slightly more RAM than the touch pro.
One more thing. I have no technical knowledge but how can xperia have 128mb dedicated video RAM when it already has an ATI graphics accelerator. Like in computers, u have a shared video RAM or a GPU. I never heard that the touch pro/diamond/hd are using hw 3d accelerator. Correct me if i am wrong.

A GPU can have either shared or dedicated RAM. My AMD-based mobo (FoxConn 6150K8MA-8EKRS - I know, very old, soon time to upgrade) includes an NVIDIA GeForce 6100 using shared RAM. Dedicated RAM is faster of course.

The X1 version handed out during yesterday's press conference did have 384 MB of RAM. Nothing to worry about. The retail version has 384 MB.
