@Aya: after subscription what does vmobile do to allow your sim full web access? give you a new IP address? thats what we need to know.
keep up the good work mamba I'm trying the same thing.
teexl input the vmobile IP address in place of the dns or proxy server address

i've been trying to find out the gprs limitations of each network and have found that MTN get's disconnected automatically once you have less than 6naira, which means you can't browse on zero credit or negative billing like glo. i've come up with a strategy to buy about 10 glo lines now that it's as cheap as dirt and use them to browse on negative as long as possible b4 discarding them..

@ihe: Thanks for remembering my little girl's birthday. Thanks to her, I am probably the only PNF member who has set eyes on you

@amby: Its usually more tha just getting assigned a new IP. I run a webhost business. If I dont activate MySQL on your account, no amount of tweaking will give you that functionality. If vmobile has locked prepaid accounts out of Web access, well..... unless they left a loophole you can exploit, all the tweaking in the world will lead nowhere

MTN is still billing me. I loaded N200 this morning, loaded my WAP homepage and about N2 promptly developed wings.

I purchased a copy of a new mobile mag "Mobile World Nigeria" today, and there was this caption "GPRS Finally Takes Off In Nigeria". On going thru the write-up, its a reference to MTN GPRS now being available. Whoever wrote that piece must have been living on Mars all this while when Glo GPRS had been active for over a year, Vmobile GPRS for a few months, not to mention even Mtel GPRS! Apparently, MTN paid for that write-up. But must we present misleading information? I simply hate this kind of nonsense. Truth be told: MTN is a lousy late-comer in the GPRS arena.
