1. the "flight mode" only comes on the W800 (walkman phones) and is a walkman feature so it wont come on the k750.

It allows you to just use the phone as a walkman and not as a phone / walkman. (selected when you turn it on).

I am from the UK and have just bought (20 Jan 06) a W800i on Orange. I have been browsing all the forums and keep ending up back at this one. I thought this would therefore be the best place to get a response.

The only problem I am having so far is with transfering mp3 files from my hard drive to my phone using disc2phone. The connection either dies (current transfers go to a different, colour and stop at 50% and right hand side can't see duo card) or it works but when I safely disconnect loads of the songs I just copied are missing.

I did one upgrade using the UpdateService_Inst_2.2.11b.exe download on the sony ericsson update service page and now have version R1NA005. I don't know what version I had before I did the update as I hadn't seen these forums.

Also what is SEUS I keep seeing everywhere, is this just Sony Ericsson Update Service?

To summarise can someone HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems Orange SE updates are a bit slower than all the others. I have a k750i on orange and im still on R1N035.

For transfering, I just use windows, just find the file and drag and drop the music into it. Much easyier than any programs.

Yeh, SEUS stands for Sony Ericsson Update service.

R1NA005 is probely the furthest your going to get at the moment, until SE bring out a new batch of updates for Orange Branded phones. I still want to know where I can find out when they will bring it out.

Thanks for your help. Do you convert the bit rate of your mp3s as this is the most useful bit of the disc2phone software. I have 192 and want to convert to 64 to make the most of the space. May I ask if anyone has any advice on what (free!) software to use?

Also is there a limit on the amount of tracks the phone can handle or is it just a space limit?

Cheers

I have a quick question about R1AA008 in comparison to
R1N0035. What are the major improvements? Is it really worth to go from R1N0035 -> R1AA008? I have seen some posts with communication problems when upgrading software?
I want to use Davinci logger to do this so I presume they have the latest and best firmware image?
I'd appreciate any information.

thanks

Orange Have currently still not approved the last 2 updates on the SE service. This is possible due to the Hissing problems.

Also If you let you Orange phones update to the latest version on the Net You seem to get the same version of firmware. Infact you get revsion B.

I know this as The corruption of the memory card disapears when transfering files. So far this has worked in over 10 different K750i phones. The software is still R1N035 tho.

eh?

I've tryied to update from R1N035 to R1AA008 about 3 times but it still says R1N035...

What most of us want to know is when they will bring out the next SE update that Orange will like.

Hi all!

I'm just wondering if anybody successfuly upgraded F/W from R1N035 to R1AA008 with EMEA_2 customization or at least from R1N035 to R1NA005 on W800i?

Thanks.

Currently I dont have any faults with the R1N035 on Orange, So im happy that Orange currenlty havnt released it.

Ok so you do get minor improvements but I dont want my phone to Hiss every time i use it for calls and i do use it for a lot of calls.

I would either think that Orange will wait for the next firmware which i know SE are working on now, Or asking them to modify the one to be released just for them.

I dont want the same problems the O2 had last year when GPRS/MMS functions just stopped working alltogether.

Question.

Has anyone noticed with R1AA008 whether their phone holds more text messages than previous versions?
I have a K750i and used to frequently see the warning that I was getting near the maximum on my old R1L002 F/W, but since upgrading I have not yet had it once...
