Nope I'm afraid it's the screen itself

@end0rphine Ouch, thats a real shame, do you hve anything like Orange Care or the equivalent with your contract? Might be worth a try.. I'd imagine that any other way will probably cost you more than their usual £15 excess and involve some fairly tricky diy on your part..

To the rest of you still trying to protect your pride and joy, Goldenface has posted a link about a liquid application in the cases and protection thread..

However all of your posts just make me think that the best way is to invest in a decent, and suitably attractive case, like the noreve I linked to earlier and that Mobile fun have for less than the cost direct? Especially for fat fingered oafs like me to whom the idea of applying a screen protector or the like is something that just fills me with dread. I know there's be more air-bubbles on the screen than there are pixels at the mo.

That way you get the best of both worlds, when she's in your pocket she's protected, but in full use she's in all of her glory but still benefiting from a factory-fittted protector... No loss of sensitivity on the screen and hopefully no damage to her either? But that's just me..

I know what you mean about being sausage fingered. I don't think there is any substitute for a factory fitted protector - I don't have much luck with applying protectors either.

I suppose the spray on protection would be the next best thing and that, used with a suitable pouch would provide a good deal of protection.

Alternatively, it might be easier to apply protection to the tip of your forefinger to stop that becoming greasy.

Hi again guys,

Backtracking to that previous post about the screen protector. Initially, I removed the obvious stock screen protector, but I think I can see a second layer. Are there 2 screen protectors pre-installed?

@end0rphine

Yep there are essentially 2 screen protectors on the handset out of the box.

The 1st being the protector with animation on it and a slight overhang tab by the volume buttons making for easy removal.

The 2nd is a very well fittted thin protector which covers the whole screen. Close inspecton will identify this.

So like other members advised, check to see if it is in fact this 2nd protector that is scratched and not the screen.
Some people had spares of this screen protector included in the box, I'm assuming you were like me and had no such thing.

For SP, have you consider CAPDASE? They do Softjackets too (silicon case) And I think they do high quality products. Although in their SE line-up only the Satio and X2 has Softjackets available.

Check it out
