2 years ago this would totally have been frowned upon as i remember very well in esato-i guess its a sign of the times when betrayal to the SE brand is now taken so lightly.Give it 2 more years at the current pace we might as well turn it into a Windows Mobile forum.... why? When SE released the p800-p900 it was cutting edge and it was pretty new technology which meant for the past 4-5years it has more or less mantained a lead plus the subsequent delays were acceptable because the company was going where no other company had gone b4.Now having said that the issue with the p990 is totally different for it is not cutting edge when compared with its contemporaries ,in fact some may argue that its behind some of its competition. It does not have a clear advantage and the delays that have belegured it is less easy to justify as hardware wise its competitors are ahead of the game ,therefore SE is not breaking new ground but is now following a well troden path.If SE is serious about staying in the smartphone market in the near and further futureand make money out of it,it should take a very long hard look at its next product on the pxxx range and think very carefully when they are going to release it

After hearing everything around here about memory problems and such, I was just wondering if there is any chance SE would change any hardware in the phone. I currently have an order in with Expansys, so I should get the phone next week. I just don't want to get it if there are changes to it after I buy it. I know there will be plenty of firmware updates to fix some things, but I just wanted to make sure that I won't miss out on a hardware change.

Also, I don't know if it has been asked, but does anyone know why SE have "unreleased" the phone in the UK?

Thanks

the problem is not more memory it's uiq3 windows mobile 5 which is a memory hog has around 40 mb free out of 64 mb (some said it was over 50 mb but I don't have one so I can't confirm)

the problem with the p990 is not hardware it's software sure more memory is better but if 15-20 mb is enough for windows mobile, uiq3 should use even less, there is definatley a memory leak, hopefully it will be fixed in future firmwares, the question is when

Same here dude, sadly this generation of se's have nothing new to offer, I've had 5 se phones in the past, hopefully next lineup is better. I'm a fan of both the K and P series but both the k800 and p990 have let me down :|

I love SE but i´m a little affraid that they do the same as they did with the previous p900 after a few months they released the p910, so i´m a bit concerned that something like this will happen again, i know that Sony´s favourite phrase is "Let´s make our own products obsolete in a couple of months" ( i read this sentence in an interview with a Sony CEO).
Best regards
