THE WORST PHONE EVER COMES TO THE CANADA & US ... I AM FROM TORONTO, CANADA AND WE HAVE THE CRAP PHONE HERE. I BUY ALL MY PHONES FROM EUROPE ANYWAYS LOL....

Um you don't need to shout. And also from Toronto we have quite a few phones that were NOT crap.

* Fido carried the first EDGE phone SE Z500 (no other carrier carried it first).
* Fido carried the P800, the P900, the P910! (P800 was released within 30 days from European release. P900 less than 4mths, P910 took 9mths. NON had 3G that was useful here in Canada BUT they carried it).
* Rogers carried the TYTN (still does - 4mths after AT&T released it; we have Video Camara on their version AT&T does not).
* Rogers released the W810i before the US did
* Rogers released the K850i and US still hasn't although its 6-7mths after Euro released.
* Rogers released BlackBerry 8800 first. AT&T Announced it first, but we had it before them. Europe had it less than 3mths before Canada. 8310 was released less than 4mths before US; less than 3mths after Europe.

So how does Canada suck when it comes to phones? You need to be more clear. Sure we slow to release phones ... rightfully slow because TOO many users STILL think phones are just for emergencies ... they don't realize that they're lifestyle devices.

My phone is my Alarm clock (has been for 5-6yrs)
Previously, for 3mths my phone was my email client! Solid too; 5yrs ago.
My phone is my SMS/MMS communicator.
My phone is my mobile web portal.
My phone is my digital camera - has been for 2yrs now!
My phone is my walkman - has been for 2-3yrs and will continue to be!
My is my mobile calendar & scheduler - has been for 5yrs (less 6mths); it needs an improvement.

I just think the prices of phones in Canada (well not the phones but the plans themselves) are outragous! Way to expensive compared to many other providers in Hong Kong.

There isn't any choice in Canada either. At least in US, you have T-Mobile nad AT&T as GSM providers. Here in Canada: Rogers and Fido, OH WAIT, they are the same company now. I do hope Telus joins the GSM race, which there has been rumors and speculation that they will. And if they use European bands for 3G it would be even better! (that's a dream)

Hmmm... So true!

Anyway, I posted this up on the General X1 topic and decided to post it up here too:

I wonder what is Sony Ericsson hinting?

This post is placed on both the General X1 Topic and Rumors Topic

"I Life In Colour"

Basically it says that when you buy a Cybershot phone, you can purchase a digital photo frame for just 9 euros. And the offer runs between 1st and 31st of March.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh and it looks like it's a 7 inch screen...? Not an official SE accessory either, its Agfaphoto.

Prices of phones have been VERY comparable.

At launch on Vodafone the K850i retailed on contract for $199Euro's. Rogers released it at $299 on 3yr contract (less $100 credit if you signed for $25Communicate pack for those 3ys. I did I got enhanced Voicemail 2500 SMS, 1000 MMS, Video On Demand Unlimited, Radio On Demand Unlimited, Caller ID, Missed Call ID - works when your phone is off) ALL of which I already use but I get the bonus VOD/ROD & $100 credit.

So again what pricing are you complaining about? I'll agree on Blackberry data rates. Unlimited browsing on the built-in browser for the K850i is $7/mth extra MUCH cheaper than ANYTHING before EVER offered (including Fido's grandfathered Unlimited data for $50/mth - but that included tethering). Remember I'm an Old school user here in Canada so be careful with such statements; I'm not rich never have been so EACH dollar paid is a hole in my pocket! I always watch the pricing. hehe.

European bands will NEVER be used here because our wireless licensing is VERY different than in Europe. Hoping for that is like hoping to fly by your own hands unassisted. Not gonna happen. Heck even our VHF & standard Cable in our older Boob-tube TV's had different resolutions. A Triband K850i suits the need for traveling and still getting HSDPA.

Don't worry competition is HEATING up REALLY big. Telus rumor began with no proof on another forum and analysts that don't even use MMS let alone network features. Telus WILL offer GSM roaming during this years Olympics but ONLY in BC.
