Z and Z1 use DragonTrail glass with Anti Shatter Film on top (with the Sony logo etched).

Rejoice 4.3 is official for Z1 and Z Ultra her is the text copied direct from Sony's website
The next Sony software rollout for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra starts right about now*…
We’ve been working to blend our Sony Xperia software with Google’s Jelly Bean release to create some cool user experiences (if we say so ourselves) – in addition to a few performance tweaks here & there, some of the functionality you can look forward to includes:
Google’s Android 4.3; Jelly Bean as standard – bringing Project Butter performance & UI optimisation and a smoother graphical experience
Launched with Xperia Z1, we’re now bringing Sony’s Smart Social Camera to Xperia Z Ultra – our signature camera experience, that lets you download, access and enjoy “Xperia camera apps” directly from within the viewfinder
We’re also uplifting Sony’s entire native app portfolio to the latest versions – bringing tweaked / improved / current experiences for (to name but a few): Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, Sony Select and…
Sony’s Media apps: WALKMAN, Album and Movies, with Sony Entertainment Network cloud service integration* - a more converged and full Sony entertainment experience – Sony Entertainment Network & PlayMemories integration with a more intuitive UI, offering seamless access to both local and cloud content
The launch of our unique custom interface experience: “Xperia Themes”, with downloadable UI packs from Sony Select – more on this soon…
The latest Android security enhancements, matched with Sony’s mobile enterprise solution: Xperia in Business
Our Android 4.3; Jelly Bean rollout for the remaining Sony Xperia products is right around the corner – we’ll be back with more details; bespoke feature sets and timings as things progress.
*As usual, timing & availability may vary by market & carrier

so sounds like this 4.3 update for the Z1 basically just brings performance tweaks and subtle UI changes in various sony apps..
if there was a camera update, they would have mentioned it. i guess we'll have to wait for kitkat or a standalone camera update through a firmware upgrade in the coming months.. time will tell.
shame. i was really hoping for some camera tweaks with this update.
honestly not that excited for the upgrade now since i don't have any performance issues even now.. so even if it is a lil faster with 4.3.. meh...

@moogoo I would personally wait for the official change log I do think they would have tweaked the camera it may not be the big update we were hoping for but any improvement is progress guess we will just have to wait and see.

@moogoo if I'm correct you have the C6903 variant on the Z1 (European LTE version) I'm hoping the update hits our phones this week however mine is network locked so chances are I will have to wait longer due to network approval

Looks like it isn't the big camera update we were looking for.
BUT that doesn't mean there isn't any improvement.
For example they could have just lowered the JPEG compression without mentioning it, at least that's what I could imagine.
And I hope so
Let's wait for the changelog.

We were talking about glass specifically, the malfunction, and I'm more than positive, was the data ribbon cable between the display and MB that got loose.

according to ZOMG, 4.3 update is suppose to bring new quality mode for the camera photos. Normal, fine and super fine, from the current 80% compression down to 50% but double file size. This update will tell us how accurate he is
