A VERY interesting interview with Ericsson's CEO about the future (incl Philips partnership with change in the USA soon with 5G) ... and thoughts of the past with SonyEricsson and the change from 2010.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c18VAOIWq4

VERY interesting read ... especially how it may directly relate and affect Sony in the future!!

So now the next expected devices are Xperia Ultra & Tablet, both should be powered by the new 820...

I see it as good start for any new SoC, as larger devices will make adopting a new SoC easier without any issues regarding heat problems (if any) duo to the large size of the device...

but in the same time, the hopes were always having the newest SoC in the main flagship... but it's better to have the flagships free from any issues caused by early SoC adoption...

So, Z6 (Z6, Z6c & Z6p) will be in mid 06 or IFA 2016 ?

can you link it here?

i'm just looking at the situation from not just sony mobile's side but whole sony company.

what sony will do something about mobile gaming after vita failure?
will there be new mobile console?
if there will be a new handheld console , they need to create a new powerful soc and mobile os...
apple threat is getting bigger every year...
i think vita at the released date has most powerfull mobile hardware , epecially for gaming...
they have still powerfull game library and series...
imagine it gran tourismo,god of war ,uncharted,last of us,driveclub special to xperia gaming phone.
vita juts sold 10 million , z series probably sold more then 50 million..

i'm thinking about a gaming phone with powerull gpu and decent cpu with dual os : android and a lightweight mobile os.sony need to really try something like this.

sony should just do a midrange xperia as a vita succesor + controller shell cuz the price point need to be as low as possible for handheld, probably 250-300 USD max. Even a S805 equivalent mid ranger with customized stuffs like actual vram. And each model should last about 2 years then follow up with a more powerful revision that is fully backward compatible (of course old one will play new games but at lower setting and resolution). They can have their own customized version of android to runs apps and their own security system like black berry priv.

Well, if Sony gets more of a PR like that (this is one of the biggest sites in Central Europe), then they can forget about selling more smartphones. Read for yourself:

@Xajel
I wonder how s820 will perform against exynos 8890 in the compact-main-phablet size as this is the big question... but like you wrote sony have plenty of time to figure it out. I hope that qualcomm will compete once again and surpass exynos as almost all manufacturers are dependent on them for their high end devices.
Do you see sony announcing new flags (not a half year regional update like z3+) outside ifa? slim chance.
@blackzeros
I thought about a new sony mobile console as well. The thing is, It seems like mobile console gaming which is dominated by sony and nintendo almost since its existent (after sega exited the handheld gaming) is disappearing as mobile phones become more powerful and you can just connect any controller to a phone and play. About exclusive content, Franchise console ports and exclusives for handheld were never so appealing because the console version is usually superior and people rather play games on a big screen. I am a gamer since the late 80's i had all sega consoles, snes, all sony consoles, my ps3 recently died... but i never had a mobile console. With that said, if there is one company that can succeed in making a new mobile console it is sony. I dont' remember i read any rumors of sony working on a vita successor? Risky...

Your comment is laughable at best and lack any substance. There is no point for me to even start arguing with you because you did not encounter even one thing i wrote in my previous messages, why? because you simply can't. All you can do is fill your comment window with pointless immature expressions. Everything i wrote is backed up in many reviews and comparisons i read and watched. I am a sony fan for the last 20 years but i am also objective and i criticize sony as all do here because without criticism a manufacturer will not improve. I did post my criticisms on sony mobile forums a few times already. When rumors are dry we make this forum a bit more lively. If you are not new here you should know that.
