After the update I don't have to recharge my battery so often. The first 1.5 week I had to recharge each or every second day. Now it lasts at least 3 to 4 days (with same kind of usage). I "blame" this on the new firmware update.
I also think I can notice much better speed when multitasking, e.g. playing games at the same time as playing music. There's no way for me to confirm this, so I can't really prove it's true.

Now, I don't necessarily think they've managed to speed it up - as they've had this platform long enough that each firmware update can't keep bumping up the speed.
What I think happens is they fix bugs that slow it down over time. Before the update, after leaving it on a few days (proving it doesn't reboot very often anymore) I noticed the music player was jerky and when you viewed an image the time taken from the initial low-res preview to the high-res version was nearly 10 seconds. After a reboot, it was back to maybe 1 or 2 seconds. Videos were also jerky.
I don't know if this means a memory leak, some other bug or whatever - but it isn't doing it now on the new firmware.. although I have rebooted the phone msyelf a few times when going into mass storage mode. So, who knows if it will be fine for weeks at a time?!

No. They do not have a Java version, and at a recent event they stated that their developments for mobile (i.e. personal navigation) is still ongoing.
You can get older TomTom MOBILE software for S60, UIQ and Windows Mobile though.

No bud, to do that you'll have to get a real smarty with a big screen and decent video handeling, like the n95 8gig or Innov8
(not to mention the free/cracked programmes and huge user community) I am still waiting for someone to explain as to why the C905 is so huge (brick like) yet has such a small screen ? After all is only a java dingy

Well i'm very suprised this hasn't been mentioned by many others but the keypad is getting badly scratched by the slider of the phone.
everytime you open & close the phone you can hear the metal underside of the slider scraping along the keypad & when you look you can see scratch marks all over the keypad.
I had my C905 replaced yet again yesterday & in less than 24 hours the keypad has sustained bad scratches.
This is getting past a joke coz it's looking like I need to take it back for a 4th time now & there's gonna come a point where they won't replace it again.

I noticed that also very early on after my purchase, and wrote about it here too. It isn't that bad though, only short, thin lines that you will have to look for to see them.
As I believe I have repeatedly stated here too, my main problems regarding build quality are that the lower part of the slider is rocking sideways and the lens cover can move around and make noises in its closed position.

Because I read of the problem here I apply pressure to the top of the phone when sliding it closed, no marks so far. I don't get the camera cover complaints, I think it's great.:-S

I don't have any marks at all on mine. I do think that the keypad is a pain to use though. The actual contacts under the numbers seem very small for the allocated space so sometimes I miss while typing, and some seem to offer more feedback than others.
Also noticed that the '5' key sometimes pops a couple of seconds after being used, as if it is sticky, and comes back to position again. Samsungs flat keypads are worlds ahead of this effort from
I think.
