Occasionally the reverse also applies. We received a Futronic home theatre system as a gift some years ago. I'd never heard of the brand, and discovered why it could so easily be given as a gift- it was dirt cheap!! However, it's still going strong, and even stranger, it plays nearly any format of disc. I've had discs playing perfectly on it, when the same discs wouldn't play on the better brands. In fact, a buddy who does professional recordings uses an Enzer as his personal dvd player. He swears by its abilities... So much so that if i ever come across an Enzer P5031 i'm buying it without hesitation. They were selling here for R299 at Pick 'n' Pay some time ago. Stocks were sold out long before i got there :-l This message was posted from a WAP device

Today is Day 1 of the Great Wanqsta House Hunt.
Gonna go view some properties within the hour.
Within the next few months we hope to have a place of our own.
A 4 bedroom detached house with garage in a really nice area is gonna cost in the region of £240 000 and up....
Gonna be a great feeling, being well over R2.6 million in debt...!

Oh well,at least it's money into my own place, not helping somebody else pay off their mortgage and nothing to show for my hard-earned shekels.

Amen to that, boet, amen to that. Better your own debt than that of the landlord... My favourite reply to the question of home-ownership has long been... "The bank says it's my house." This message was posted from a WAP device

@da wanqsta: Good luck with the house- hunting.
Just got back from the Waterfront, met a couple of nice guys working for for the holidays.
They were marketing some of the company's newest phones...these chaps, although straight out of high school knew their SE's from their Blokia's and could tell me everything I wanted to know about the W800- not that I'l be buying one soon.
From what I heard participants in the Volvo Ocean Race, which stopped over in Slaapstad, each got a W900...makes me want to take up sailing

Man, it's cold out there.
I was emphatically reminded how much more house you get for your money in SA than here,(going by the echange rate only), even with the current SA house prices.
What are you all doing for New Year's Eve?
We're just having some close friends over,in stark contrast to last year when we joined the throngs and festivities around Trafalgar Square and Tower Bridge.
I bet that short film which is always shown at this time of year in SA, Dinner For One, will be airing on one of the channels tonight.

Tonight we're entering the New Year the same way we've been doing it for many a year- by attending the midnight mass. Once we're back home i kindle a smallish fire, sip from an enormous mug of coffee and "get my mental house in order" for the new year. The partying and wishing of family is usually reserved for later during daylight hours.

To further latch onto what Wanqa's mentioned, i thoroughly enjoyed Dinner For One each and every year. After Googling for a bit i've discovered that it's a traditional item on German television as well. You may be interested in checking out the script, boet

And on that note, may i wish one and all a most Peaceful and Prosperous New Year, one filled with all the good things life has to offer. May you and your loved ones know only happiness and joy for 2006.

And an AWESOME 2006 to you all out there, live and direct from Wanqa's World!

@ Kryptik,
Shot for the link, connection.
Enjoy the iconic "Same procedure as last year James" and "Skol!" moments..wish the Poms would catch on to showing this annually as well.

Happy New Year all the all the people posting in this thread.
Last night Vodacom handled the rush of sms's past midnight pretty well...I didn't have any delay on messages I sent and those sent to me.

Ironically, down here we couldn't make or receive calls on either MTN or Vodacom from 7pm onward, although gprs was up and running smoothly. This message was posted from a WAP device

Hey Fellows

Hope everybody had a feb. crossover to da new year.

I'm having good holidays except that I was mugged my SE V800. I was at the wrong place, wrong time and wrong condition/state of mind.

Anyway, Enjoy. All the best for this year.
