I recently updated my K750i firmware from R1N035 to R1AA008. I would like to confirm the static noise bug when receiving call. Never happen for R1N035. This is really frustrating when a phone cannot even perform its basic function well. Love the phone though. Hope SE fix it ASAP.

hey guys check this reply regarding the hissing in the current F/w.

Dear JP,

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.

With regards to your enquiry, thank you for your feedback regarding the firmware we have released for your Sony Ericsson W800i. With firmware version R1AA008, we have not experienced the issues you have described. Please try updating your handset through our online update service, located on our website under the support page for the Sony Ericsson W800i. Once you have done this please reply with the results. If your handset still experiences the same sound quality issue, this may be due to the source of the sound/video clips. Try the play back of these clips on a PC that does not use background noise reduction software on playback. This will help you identify if the recordings are of poor quality. Please note sound/video clips taken outside may include a certain amount of background noise that will sound like hiss interference. This is most likely not interference but noise from air passing over the microphone (wind).
IF this advice does not help resolve these issues, please contact us on **** *** *** so one of our agents can advise you of our warranty repair service.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

@ Uncle Bob

Are you suggesting the update might have gone wrong?? Can SEUS actually load a corrupted firmware??

My files on the memostick are fine, nothing happened to about 300MB of data on the stick during the upgrade. I'm certain the tune didn't get corrupted, as the problem occurs with any tune I use as alarm clock even if it's from the phone memory.

This happened only about 4 times in 2 months, but still...

I'm not suggesting the files became corrupted even though the possibility exists. The files could be fine on the SE server, but something could have happened on your own machine. There's about a million reasons and possibilities of what could have gone wrong. If you think about it, other people in your area also downloaded and updated their phones with the files yet they have no problems, only you, so maybe something happened while you were downloading the update files. Maybe a butterfly flapped its wings on the other side of the world and thus set off a chain reaction in the atmosphere influencing the download of your files.

Just thought its worth a try.

Regarding the memory stick; I prefer to play it safe.

@Uncle Bob

Ok, I'll try one more update and see if it helps eventhough I'm not a fan of flashing my phone. I'm affraid it can get worse, since there have been numerous posts about screwed up phones after an upgrade.
Thanks for help, I'll let you know how it turned out. See ya...

Meanwhile I found another thing, in Poland (where I'm from) the shutter can't be turned off, but there's a trick to make it silent. You call some free number and then take a photo, the shutter is silent. BUT, when I do that (and only in this case) the autofocus sometimes seems to be unable to focus and makes worrying screeching sound when I keep the button pressed.

That's odd - the Poland thing. Here in the UK if you put your phone on silent mode the shutter sound is disabled so you can take silent photos.

Regarding the flashing of your phone. Dont fret too much about it as it should not damage your phone, besides if the worst happens, remember the service is provided by SE so your warantee should cover it.
