@maggflodd, as a matter of fact, the one that I downloaded using tranced's link did overwrite my official version. Wasn't a big deal as my only bookmarks were for Esato. Anyway, it installed fine and detected my gprs connection. But somehow, it wouldn't load any pages when I clicked my my bookmarks or entered a web address. The file manager worked fine though. Now I just wanna know if uninstall a java app, will it leave any remnants?

"Deluded" - sorry to hear that! I didn't mean to casually misinform!!! Could be a difference in phones maybe??? I'm hardly a techie - just a big operamini/-mobile fan (what were mobiles before that... just phones )... I have tried loads and loads of opera versions, and the only thing I ever encountered was that one official version WILL overwrite the other... As to "java remnants"... I honestly don't know - but I'd asume that CAN happen... Using file explorers I have come across various remnants/relics from applications that I uninstalled/deleted ages before!!! On symbian phones (my e61 for example) apps similar to one you had on the phone previously can definitely be bothered/malfunction - at least that is what developers told me for instance when "answering machine" wouldn't work because I had before that had a similar answering app tried... changing sd-card and restoring memory confirmed that: suddenly "answering machine" did work...

try like this....

1. open the .jar file with winrar,
2. copy manifest.mf and edit with Notepad
replace "MIDlet-Name: Opera mini" with "MIDlet-Name: Opera"
and save
3. overwrite the original manifest.mf

when you'll install the app it is called Opera.
I've uploaded the app to my phone with MyPhoneExplorer.
I'm using a K600i.

It seems that modifying that file wont make any difference but the application name. Modifying a .class will make a big difference(APPLICATION ERROR). Shall try this later.

@maggflodd, no worries, mate! My phone's perfectly fine, I uninstalled the hacked Opera Mini and re-installed the official Opera Mini. No harm was done, I just had to save 3 bookmarks (all links to different parts of Esato). I previously used a Nokia Symbian phone so I know of instances of Symbian apps not uninstalling cleanly. Was just wondering if that applied to Java apps as well. I suppose it's not unlikely that such a thing could happen. In any case, I'd like to thank you for your help, cheers!

@ tranced
you are right. it changes the name of the app (usefull if you have diff versions with same name).
you said that you have modified a ".class" file. what program did you used?
@ Lone-Wolf
what phone you're using? do you have a version of opera working on your phone?
