Mine is CDA162008/91 R3A01, long time till mine gets updated if thats the way it is. Hopefully isn't though, I'd guess its down to the networks speed at editing the firmware

I've just upgraded my Generic World 1 phone. Download and update took about 30min (yes, half an hour) wich is must quicker than pevious update (to R7)!
Restoring of data needed much more time but it seems that more or less everithing is here (no Voice labels, paired Bluetooth devices, some settings etc.)!

I hate to ask such a stupid question. I just got the P990i yesterday and I want to update the firmware. How can I do this? Can someone please give me step by step directions? Thanks.
PS- I have no clue where to get the new update so please link me as well. Thanks.

One more thing that i have noticed. Then the phone has been off and you start it up and you have got some SMS you now get the right time when they where sendt. But this is not the case with MMS. Here you still get the time then the phone was powered up....

Surely pure unlocked phones should be able to be updated?
Carphone Warehouse don't customise handset firmware. I bought my P990i from them on O2 (same as yours - unlocked) and it's CDA162007/2 R4A09.

I am stunned that you feel the need to attack someone for asking the question, most phones you buy you simply do not need to imediatly start putting things right! so I am not supprised the guy is not "aware" of what to do straight off. ITYAATW work that out yourself from there!
