have you not tried using SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) to install latest firmwarefor your handset and then adding any additional languages you need?

@ jungleboy
All you need is to download the SEUS and install that. Then run it and follow the instructions on the screen. Its very easy

I have been trying ot get to the bottom of these reboots and find that when I am using the phone (usually in FO mode) it is vert stable and I can open as many as 8 applications (have not tried more) without a problem. the reboots only happen on incoming calls.

To update fw on your P990 follow these steps:
1- Download the update program for P990 from SE web site.
2- Make sure that your phone can connect to your PC using PCSuite, this means that the USB drivers should work.
3- Make sure Internet Explorer is your default web browser and that flash support is installed.
4- Make sure that your PC locale is set to UK English.
5- Run update.exe, it should connect to the Internet and download 2-3 MB of updates.
6- Follow the instructions on screen. If you get an error saying USB drivers are not installed properly ignore it.
7- If there is an update available for your CDA go ahead with the update. The process bar usually goes up to around 50% then the actual update to the phone begins.
My advise is, before doing the update, format the internal memory and do a master reset and avoid using the PCSuite restore command for anything other than the unified inbox.

Thats why I think that Johnex is right. My wife got a P990i from here work and we had our phones exactly the same. But she had this restarts all the time with incoming calls. We tried everything with the phone, format, master reset, updated the f/w several times. Nothing helped. So it ended up with returning the phone.

HI, i'm in the same boat and have a generic 1 p990i and have only had 2 restarts since the last firmware update. I got mine here in Hungary from an independent mobile shop. However, some of my friends got subscription p990i from vodafone/t-mobile and have had numerous problems with restarts and delays in upgrading firmware.
Most of them have returned the p990iphones and have got Nokia ones.
It's all quite baffling and a case for detective Colombo or the conspiracy theorists.

After upgraded the firmware to R4B03 I have the problem of synchronizing P990 with Outlook.
A friend of mine suggested to reflash the P990 and I did it.
Guess what happen?
Now not only it can't sync with Outlook but also can't connect with PC Suite!
I've tried to uninstalled and re-installed the PC Suite but it didn't work.
My P990 now can connect with computer in File Transfer mode ONLY.
Any suggestion?

5- Run update.exe, it should connect to the Internet and download 2-3 MB of updates.
Maybe this is what I have been doing wrong. I have been using "Update Service.exe".
