That's how most sensible browsers work, I think..?

Anyway, do you really want the browser to delete your downloads on the disk once they're complete?

What I'm posting is not a bug, but the lack a features that is similar to a bug:

On the Contacts application->Received Messages I can create a custom folder (i.e. "old Messages") and move the messages there, but the same functionality is not available for Sent Messages!
I can neither create folders nor move the Sent Messages to a custom folder!

In a year from now, am I forced to see a list of hundreds of messages every time I open the Sent folder ???
I'm a programmer - it's pretty obvious someone forgot to program the menu entries in the Sent Messages view...

Or just added the function later on without any real concept of what they were doing. So.. do I have a second for demanding a streamlined messager- app, with the same conventions from folder to folder? Instead of having one way of doing things when in the sms- folder, one way on the e- mail, and so on. You know, I'm a bit worried that noone complained about any of this until now..

edit: ...hm. Or maybe the programmers just didn't want to mix incoming and outgoing messages, and forgot to do anything about the special case afterwards..

The most annoying is that both the Contacts and Messages applications were downgraded from UIQ 2.1 to UIQ 3.0.
Contacts missing a decent Search function, and Messages missing folders.

Once again is proven the people that work on Sony Ericsson development don't use their own phones.

Mm. Seems they've spent all the time working on the activesync, calendar integration with the invitations, the wap push stuff, and so on.

Maybe because I've been a developer all my life I keep finding stuff almost no one talks about.
Anyway, here's a new problem: The most annoying bug of the P1 (R9J005 firmware)

I've created 2 custom folders to organize my installed applications: A 'GPS' folder, and a 'System' folder.
Installed applications icons by default go to the Tools folder (the folder of the Calculator), so after installing a new application I move the icons to the correct folder. Games go to Entertainment folder, GPS tools go to my custom GPS folder, etc.

What happens is that frequently the icons 'forget' the new folder I set, and Reset to the installation folder !

The icons themselves are fine, and can be moved back to any folder again, but it's weird they forget their place.
It's worst, only some of them forget the folder, others not. And it's random, sometimes my custom folder becomes empty, other times only some of the icons have disappeared, the rest is still there.
This happens to me at least once every 2 days.

I've been trying to track the problem, and I believe is related to one of 3 situations:
1. May be related to resetting the phone by holding the power button.
2. May be related to use the task manager to close all running applications.
3. May be related with the making a full backup to the PC (a backup, not a restore!)

I'm glad it's not a crash type of bug, but very annoying nevertheless...

..Seems it happens sometimes after you unmount the memory card in some way. After a backup, using the usb- cable, hot- switch, etc. But I'm not sure how long it takes before it's back to normal.. Or when the program list is really supposed to be loaded again.. So it might be something SE might want to look into (*cough* the wiki *cough*).

I haven't had much trouble with it lately, though. Even if I've used the USB cable, or switched the mem- cards a few times. Maybe I just didn't notice it..

@lau: use Swiss Manager Pro whatever version to reset them as you wanted. To do this you need to "reclaim memory, level 3". Afterwards, everything is ok. It's a bug present in P990i too.
Or reboot.

WOW! The Swiss Manager trick works!!
Thanks mate!!

This may be an old bug, but Sony Ericsson/UIQ apparently don't know about this, so it's worth posting again
