considering that they've dedicated a key to "new message", among other shortcut keys via the softkeys...that frees up the dpad shortcuts list to customize to other needed "shortcuts" no? isn't that as good as having extra context keys w/o taking up more space?

just curious.

Im really feeling the G900. With that low price tag, it will be a cool short term phone till the P5i and X1i come out

Not sure you can customize the D-pad shortcuts as these are probably used to flip through the panels in the standby screen (left-right and then up-down to navigate within one panel). But as the panels can be disabled and the standby screen can be set on the standard Today screen, maybe it's possible after all...

Therefore the G700 has an edge over G900 in terms of navigation due to the additional two hardware keys. SE assures that a feature is missing in every model that they release inorder to maximize variety

I used both today and it is an advantage of G700 over G900... But it's only a matter of time to get used to it... There are dozens of new phones coming with touch sensitive buttons so I don't think it much of a problem for G900... Plus touch is cool... I wished it vibrated like Samsung soul and one of moto's phone... Yes I used them as well...

Isn't it possible to activate a vibrating feedback when pressing the context keys on screen? I mean, the M600 had that, I believe the feature should still be on board the G900.

BTW, how did you get to play with the G series ???

I am tempted by this but ideally I want at least 2.6 inches so I think ill wait for a P1 sucessor. For me the interface isnt that much of an improvment. I could have many apps open at a glance on the P1 anyway.
