Just ordered a black c901 on Ebay just for kicks, got it real cheap ($215 with shipping) so if I decide to sell it in a month or two I doubt I'll lose much of anything. I'll be able to compare it to my c905, lack of GPS is the only negative for me.

Itīs just to start video record mode and set the light to "on" and you have a flashlight. You dont need to actually record anything for making it work.

My c901 came in today, and I got it a bargain price. So here are my observations:

Looking straight on at the phone it is very similar to the c902, the sides even have the two shaded gray and black like the c902, but the buttons are a bit larger and better spaced on the c901 and of course it has the larger screen and xenon flash. Plus it deals better with fingerprints.

It's tiny compared to my c905, the buttons are spaced different so I have been trying to get used to it. I am in very poor reception area (my office is underground) but the reception on the c901 seems as strong as that on my c905, 2 bars most times, sometimes 1 or 3, compared to the c902 and k800i which barely ever found a bar, that's good.

The plastic is a stepdown from the c905, c902 or k800, very reminiscent of the k770i, a bit better then the k550. The camera cover is better then that on the k770 or k550 and slides nicely. It is easier to grip then the c902 was, a phone that I would constantly almost drop by accident.

The UI is identical to the c905 and I see no discernible difference in speed or reaction. It deals with a 16gb M2 card with no issues and I was able to sync my contacts (approx 350) via bluetooth in under 30 seconds. The only thing I miss is my c905 theme with the moving background, but to make up for that the c901 has an included Facebook app which runs scrolling friend updates on your screen. I was quite surprised when the Google Maps app had my last route from my c905 written out, is this stored on the m2 card or SIM? Weird. Or maybe Google identifies the SIM and downloads the info instead of storing it on the phone?

Negatives? I never use WiFi on my c905 anymore (I did at the beginning but honestly my EDGE downloads where only slightly slower and less battery draining and I don't bother) so the loss of that is no biggie, though I do miss GPS which I use on the c905 constantly. If they threw that in this phone it would be perfect, but of course this phone does allow for the use of the HGE-100 GPS Enabler Headset which should cure anybodies GPS desires. I wish they used the black rubber on this phone as they did on k800 and c905, maybe someone will fulfill this need in after market battery covers.

So in conclusion, this phone is winner, it's rock solid and the price is right, to me it is the followup to the k800i/k770i, much better then the k850 or c902.

What colour did you get? I agree, the only real let down for me is the quality of the plastic - especially the back cover design. It's something I can live with however and is one of my favourite SE's I've ever owned.

Wishlist for the successor is candy bar with 8mp cam, Xenon, 2.4" screen, better materials and GPS/WiFi thrown in for good measure (though the latter I don't really use much).

Sounds good, its what the C902 should have been.
