I hope this information is true and that this model is the next Xperia Pro with a sensor that is over 1" in size.

Apple just released dedicated pro video app for their phones. Sony does not have pro video on their newest phone. Product planners are bad at Xperia, sometimes two steps ahead of the competition amd then they go three steps behind in order to consolidate with competition.

it does not have any near all those options cine pro had, even inferior to video pro.

In 2025, the Xperia lineup is said to be undergoing a review.

I don't know about it. But once thing I heard is that the next generation Xperia flagship will be a departure from spec supremacy, as we are already seeing signs of this with this year's 1 VI

Xperia 1 VII (or its equivalent) will be a more pronounced transition from premium flagship to regular flagship.

What is that supposed to mean - lower specs in a premium body? What's the difference between a Premium flagship and a regular flagship?

Making a regular flagship while you only have a small audience because of the niches you've offered seems a bit risky. But fhd change was actually good imo. Though what else is there to change? Since the screen is low res and not even the best one out. They have the build materials and cams, will they use Samsung sensors again? Or will it have no cooling whatsoever or will it bend like cheap phones?

still possible to make next one even worse.

8g4 is said to cost at least $40 more than 8g3. There are 3 options:
1) sony increases price of mark 7
2) sony reduces profit margin to avoid higher retail price
3) sony does more cuts to keep same BoM and retail prices.

You all know option 2 is impossible. It is either 1 or 3.

How to make mark 7 even worse than mark 6 is already? Easy, quit optical zoom in favor of fixed FL and bet on 💩 AI zoom thing. Use same screen of Samsung A55, including ugly hole + speaker beside usb port. Keep using imx563 for more 2 or 3 years (or until they stop making cellphones).

They lowered the spec on 5 series and the sales decline big time. They do the same on 1 series and it's game over.

They don't have to do much ove the 1 VI:
Just upgrade the camera hardware (1inch main and 1/2 secondary and front) and software processing with the 1 VII.
Minimum 5 years of OS updates

Add dual battery setup for faster charging like the ROG phones.
Anti-reflective glass as on S24 Ultra.

If they cannot keep the price same then they can keep the processor same and can release a higher priced pro version with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
