Another Aussie here. Been at Esato for a while now, but only realised this thread.

I have a K750i. Originally Optus branded, but Davinci cleaned that up. I have also done a fair few of the Far mods.

On a sidenote, does anyone know where I can get a W810i black middle housing? cnn.cn won't reply my numerous emails.

g'day aussies. LoL, I'm not an aussie, but I'v been living in Brisbane for the past 2years. Figured that would count for something.

Just wondering if any1 knows of a cellphone shop that sells contract-less SE cellphones, cause I'd rather not buy a cellphone with a '3' logo on it, or one that has a shortcut key to Optus Zoo. I've bought 2 cellphones from Sony Central in the past 2years, but its a bitch to wait 2weeks for stock to come in from Sydney or Melbourne whenever I buy one.

woah, never knew myer sold cellphones. LoL, guess it would probably be a good idea to actually enter a myer store. Many thanks mate, just a quick question: what sort of payment options does technoni offer?

not sure about myers but Grace Bros in NSW have sold phones for years. Of ocurse Grace Bros is now all Myers but I haven't been in Myers for ages

A Q about upgrades in Oz 'coz we're moving back in October but I kept out Telstra numbers active while in Europe becaue they are so good.

Do Telstra and others do phone upgrades like they do in UK each year and is in at a good price compared with taking a new contract?

myer have sold phones for years as well, but they are mostly prepaid packs.

you'll find telstra is to australia what voda is to the UK - the biggest but also most expensive. i also don't think any australian providers offer upgrade deals.

Hmm, I think they've been doing that for quite a long time now. I remember waiting anxiously for the K600i to be released last year. When it finally removed the coming soon sign, I searched the whole city for it LoL~ It only came out in Brisbane around a month after that, and that was because 3 was selling it (wait, they had K608i). I got mine 2weeks after 3 started selling it from some optus store. No logos on the casing, tho the right softkey linked me to Optus Zoo. I wonder why I never thought of flashing it with OEM software tho...

Depends on your use. Most telcos will agree to upgrade your phone once you start talking about deals you see other carriers offering, providing you have a reasonably large monthly bill!

A friend of mine was given a K750 just because he was disgruntled with the service and told them he intended to change providers (he had his and his wife's phones on the same account, about $800 a month).

The only other way to get a new phone out of your telco is to extend your contract and pay off the phone through monthly payments on top of your bill. I'm doing this with the K750, and will pay it out to buy the K800. I fit my phone use into a $49 monthly cap (for up to $230 worth of calls), so I don't think my provider will be giving me a free phone
