Maybe that was the plan initially but the conflicts between departments at Sony might have killed that plan.

or the new algorithm isn't ready yet and will come as a separate update? perhaps once the Z1 mini launches or is released?

or, Sony is waiting for 4.4 with RAW support?

Final option, and the worst, no update is coming and the new algorithm will arrive in the Z1 refresh and will not be ported to the Z1 but sony.

the refresh is out or coming out real soon for China, I know same phones from different region get extra features, especially JP version of all Sony flagship but the Z1 refresh share the exact same hardware beside the lack of sd card but with bigger internal storage. Giving Z1 refresh better camera software while the original Z1 and Z1s share he same camera hw makes abolutely no sense, if that is the case then whoever that runs sony mobile should be fired. Originally I was thinking that they could be working on the camera update and getting is ready for Z1f JP launch since Sony in generally still a very JP focus company. Thinking they would release 4.3 with camera update just before Dec 19 having it ready for Z1f day 1 update, which isn't the case now. I think some of the minor camera focus tweaks from this update people are experiencing might just be the side effect from google optimization of Android 4.3.

There is no way the model that was just released for China will be the refresh, it features a plastic bezel and frame, no sd card support either. If it is, it will be a letdown.

let's hope further camera updates are due soon or at least by january.

I don't see why not, its a refresh that is made for specific market, unless by refresh you mean a successor to Z1. That is still way off, probably Q4 next year.

Yes i meant the successor, I thought sony was doing the half a year flagship model? or is that plan not confirmed?

Unless the refresh is what we'll see at CES or MWC?

world wide release for Z1F and Z successor probably, not Z1, Z1 successor is probably Q4 2014 or Q1 2015. There might be a ZU2 in Q2-Q3 2014 to go against Note 4. Early release of Z worked for Sony, they have to get it out before S4 and HTC One. I think Z1 launched a bit later than expected, would be too soon for a Z1 successor within the H1 of 2014.

read a post about the white balance at support xperia, the guy from sony said we don't need to install the rip white balance setting, it will be included in the Z1 update for the beginning of 2014 for everyone. He doesn't specify if its 4.3.1, or 4.4 though.

I don't know what you are bitching about with the camera... on mine it takes amazing Pics. and then there is Photoshop.
It's the photographer that makes a camera count, not the other way around.

Hi all. I updated my phone to android 4.3 but i missed out on. 257 update which had camera improvements. Is there anyway i can do that? Also any infor of a Camera update anytime soon?

Whatever that was in the last firmware will be in the new one I believe. Someone from XDA mention UK Vadafone firmware take 20MP shots in auto mode now
