To those people out there with a P990I, would you recommend it over the M600I and the K800I?
I am extremely temted by it for it's task scheduler and gadgetness. and from the fact it's faster then the M600I yes? I just need to be persueded a bit more before taking the jump.
Please help.

Have you guys look at what ProcessInfo gives us access to? Seems like there are tens of threads, processes and tasks running in the background, like services in Windows. Many of those seems unnecessary, like irsendlisten, system animation player, tzserver (timezone?), mrouterclientserver, etc.

Maybe sman can help us get rid of some of those processes to recover some memory.

I bought a GPS-reciver and are using nav4all whitch is a free gps-program. It works pretty well. It downloads maps via GPRS or wifi if you run it close to a hotspot. Some features in the program seems not to be working so well. Dont know if it's because running it on p990 or just bad programming.

the program can be used as a map-program only if you don't have a GPS-reciver.

I need help with something else.. sorry for multiposting this in more then one group.. but after updating fw i can't send mails! please test this anyone that have done the update.

the answer is simple.

if you can do without a camera in the phone (and I'm sure most of us can), and if you're happy with UMTS data speeds and can live without the wifi, get the M600!

I know for a fact my M600 is a keeper for me whereas the P990 will be out the door when I tire of playing with it

I really feel the M600 is a fantastic move by and I still find it strange that when it was announced I took little interest and it was noly because of the P990 delay that I thought at least I could get a feel for UIQ3 by buying it.

Now I don't want to part with it

Thanks Masseur...

I agree with you about the initial motivation of getting the M600i... I was the same... thought... get used to the UIQ3... and jump for the P990i... but now... just thinking.... can not bear to be without the M600i... and although the P990i looks a great phone... through this thread I am feeling that the other than WIFI, camera and the radio... the M600i has it covered...an additional back up phone it is
