:lo:

oh well... it'll come when it comes... agonising over it won't bring it any quicker and I doubt there are many that are desperately needing the X1 for any life and death purpose and if they are, then there are plenty of other options

... and when it does show up on the shelves, if there is something else we'd rather have by then, well then we can make a choice

as with my kids growing up, when it comes to delivering on time, I've learned alot of patience!

it does makes me wonder more about how much of a publicity stunt the 30th Sept date was

If it is delayed mid November, early December, Then I cancell my pre-order and wait early 2009 and get next gen,
If you read my earlier posts its looks like my prophesy is getting to precise
in the release date of this product and also the imminent availability of the next gen, Actually it isnt' a loss for us, Just a big big loss for S.E, we lose confidence in there pseudo promo stunts,We all just get the next gen platforms simple, Theres loads to choose from come 2009, and all of them wipe the floor with the Xperia, and I mean it would be unsavoury to compare the Xperia it to next gen,
At the time when the specs were release they where cutting edge the only thing that stands out is hi-def screen and build quality...er fish panel
Thats all, look whats out at the moment,
I am dissapointed in S.E after all the ranting Ill still probably get it...
I will make a little wager here to all the Xperia buyers,
Mark this thread
Another prophesy; I can feel it in my waters lol.
Xperia buyers are obviously Tech heads and like aesthetics,
The Xperia You purchase will become outdated in 2-3 months Simple!!
theres a big rumbling in the next gen market, u500 is out q1/2 i can go on
which one for you TEGRA mali200 apx2500 omap3, all of these are powerhouses!!!

I can see the X1 being bought (eventually) by plenty of gadget hounds who simply dispense with it in the matter of a few months. Right now it's a nice looking phone, but the novelty of Windows Mobile is no novelty at all and will soon wear off, and better phones will soon be following hot in its footsteps. At the end of the day there's just nothing particularly new about the X1, even now.

Not true, the X1 is very similar to the Tytn II in many ways, and quite obviously descended from it with it's HTC lineage. The Tytn II is a year or so older, which is reflected in the lesser QVGA screen, less RAM etc, but it's nonetheless still a very capable Windows Mobile 6.1 powered phone with HSDPA, aGPS, 3.2mp cam, slide out Qwerty keyboard, and it's even based on an earlier 400mhz version of the same Qualcom processor found in the Xperia - so yes, it is a close relation, and can still hold its head up against the X1 (especially considering the price difference).

Really, all SE/HTC have done with the X1 is tighten up the package a little, and improve the multimedia performance with hardware drivers the Tytn II sadly lacked.

I just spoke to mphone and they are saying that the TyTN 2 is unlocked, I think I will buy it at that price. £300 including vat is amazing, considering that expansys are selling the same thing for £460. I think this should keep me happy till the X1 arrives.

@Humble

So you're telling me, if yours came today Oct 9th, then by mid-Nov or Dec the X1 will be no good to you. I bet if you had yours today you would be whistling a different tune. Your post doesn't make any sense. Why invest in almost a grand into something and turn around in less than 2 months think its a piece of sh*t. If you truely feel this way why dont you go ahead and cancel your order today. Why even wait to hear if there's another delay. Seems to me like your minds already made up since the X1 by mid-Nov or Dec will suddenly becomes a prehistoric dinosaur phone,(according to your prophesy). Btw, its prophecy (not prophesy) Of course there's gonna be better phones than the X1 in 2009, thats a no-brainer thats not prophetic.

Some stores in Sweden already have it and we also hoped to get it tomorrow in our store but our supplier had so many order on it so everyone couldn“t get it. But they atleast got it!

Next week they will have more, plenty of them:)

You can by a tytn2 here for less than that.

Excellent condition, and you would save some cash for your next purchase

Having a hard time deciding between X1 and Touch Hd... ultimately its the Touch Flo UI that really makes me want the HTC device. Personally, I think it beats the crap out of SE:s panel interface.
So, what would make me choose the Xperia is if there was a definite possibility that somehow TF3d could be ported to it... is this likely to happen?

Oh, also - what happened to Track ID on the X1? Thought that would be implemented
