Or maybe they want to only sell in Asia next year..
@spek Days ago someone left link to download the full size pics.
Night shots have all details but noise is more than I was expecting for the ISO used.
Restaurant photo was at ISO 200.

Spoke to my friend at Vodafone Australia last night, went out for dinner and randomly mentions they're waiting for an Xperia tablet which they'll get hopefully
So we'll wait and see if it does appear or not now.
I'm not sure this part "they're waiting for an Xperia tablet which they'll get hopefully"
Does this mean they know the tablet is coming but not sure if they will carry it OR they are not sure the tablet itself is coming
@racSony
I'm not sure either they left me hanging lol.
I'll ask if it's Vodafone carrying it or not...
Or
If the tablet itself is coming or not

Just read something interesting...
That guy from Pixel Peepers on youtube answered one question with very interesting answer.
Someone asked him after seeing many videos about XZ2 camera why some sites/youtubers dont admit quality of videos/stills.
( of course it is not perfect, but many situations it outperforms s9, pixel 2 and u12. Sometimes it does not)
He talked about the fact Sony does not try to buy good reviews with free phones and gifts.
That they choose regular marketing...

Yeah usually I take what reviewers say with a pinch of salt. There's a comparison by MrWhosetheboss where he compares and, even where the XZ2 photos look competitive or better than some others, he calls it out as being the worst...
The only reviewer I really trust is FlossyCarter (as he buys all of his own devices and seems genuine) - he does not seem to review Sony phones for some reason though (maybe as they have not been so big in the US to date).

Sony is not going to get screens from Samsung.
XZ2 series use 10-bit, BT2020 support and RGB matrix which Samsung Display does not offer.
XZ2 also has wider gamut than s9+.
I just watched a video where the italian youtube wss comparing S9+, OP6, P20p, XZ2, G7 and H10.
3 oled against 3 LCD.. A white image on all devices to see how bright all could push, all with oled had ref tones for the white, all LCD kept white pretty white.
The most used app is Chrome. Almost all websites are white.
When it is mostly white image oled uses more power than lcd.
Unless they find an oled as good as the ones on tvs, better keep lcd.
The idea of high ISO kills the need of OIS. I am sure that XZ2p at iso 800 will outperform other phones at iso 300.
And keeping fadt shutter to avoid blur. Fast shutter is also better for videos ( I saw this on dpreview).
Just saw this too.. I know benchmarks can be fake, but they keep showing up, very suspicious..

This whole xz2 premium story is still weird to me... Not available everywhere like XZs and X Perf.
Tiny and almost secret events, nothing close to all noise when xz premium showed up.

Sony doesn't use 10 bit panel.
Its a 8 bit panel (16m of colors)
The color gamut is almost the same (between 139-141% of sRGB), the color gamut in SAmoled is a bit wider on the green colors, however Sony has wider range on reds.
Since the green spectrum has more tones, the gamut naturally will be bigger.
BT.2020 and 10 bits are the features of HDR video files, not the display on the phone.
HLG use a BT 2020 gamut and 10 bits. Its the standard.
However there is not display that can show the entire gamut, even the high end tvs just can show 60-65 % of BT.2020 and 80-95 % of DCI-P3
What the display does is a color mapping, nothing more than that.
