It's kinda like a non-walkman version, yes. Hardware-wise it'll be the same as W580. And the specs will be around W580's, too.

have said they will target America more this year.... its such a big market, so the more phones that have quadband, the greater chance of higher profits obiously....

AFAIK, Shinobu is not the code name for W580's generic version. It's Laura. CMIIW. Shinobu is another phone.
