Guys, I updated to R1EA031 on Friday and my phone worked great until yesterday afternoon and not so bad until a few minutes ago. Yesterday it shut itself down a couple of times and this morning I was on a call and it tried to reboot itself after which it started saying "insert sim or view demo". I tried my sim on another phone and it works great. I tried another sim on my phone and it accepted it. So I put my sim back in my K850i and it seemed to be ok for a couple of minutes and then it rebooted itself and displayed the "insert sim or view demo" message again. I am thinking of reinstalling R1EA031 again.
Anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?
Thanks for reading guys.
Maybe one should always (as plankgatan always says) flash one's phone at a SE-center or via Da Vinci to get a proper, total and clean install of the new firmware. As i have been informed, if you flash at a SE-center or at Da Vinci, that kind of flash totaly ovewrites the old firmware as if you flash your phone at home it only add new stuff to the old firmware.
It might help some issues and give you a clean start with your phone. It helped me with my java issue for sure! But if you are in a hurry and want to try to get your issues fixed right now you can try what i did: I rolled back to the old firmware at Da Vinci(since the do not have the new one just yet) and then with a clean firmware, flashed at SEUS and the got everything to work(by doing this i don't have a clean firmy at the end since SEUS only adds new stuff to the old firmy)
Well it's something to ponder about! I can't, off course garantie that it will resolve all issues one have with ones phone.

After updating to R1EA031 and using it for the last few days the battery life is shorter than R1DA038.
However I will suggest before you update to R1EA031, please do a master reset of the phone.
I did and after the phone had the new firmware installed I did another Master reset for the new firmware to take effect.
I have also formatted my memory card as I notice a slight error on there.
Since doing the above, I havnt had any problems at all with java, rebooting, crashing etc.
The only things i have noticed is
Poor battery life,
mp4s are still out of sync
media has only one background
losing the hsdpa menu after master resetting.
** I have also notice on 2 occasions, switching the phone of and on, It forgets my main pic on the front and reverts back to the theme picture.
** Using opera mini no longer shows the globe icon to say im connected
Other than that, no other problems at present.
But i will keep you posted.
Mine is a o2 branded and im able to play arround with a generic branded one too

Interesting.
I guess SE shipped new batches to Rogers, my phone production was 08w06, and that was the exact same week my phone arrived.

i had the red LED in my K700,K750i & K810i(in IR glass) and whenever the battery ran out flat the phones showed the red led when pressing the power button. But on K850i, i dont see that red led glowing in the power button.
btw how can i find abt the phone production? like 07W40 etc.???

ive found a new fault no one has found out!
When you go to manage messages, non of the folders have any size to them so it appears you have no messages! I copied messages befoire the reboot to memory card but nothing is showing up for memory card!

what's everyone saying about the battery life?...
On ALL the firmwares I've had a batterly life of about 3-4 days(heavy texting and occasional media player usage)
I'm now using the latest firmware, and the battery life didn't get worse!
