I would like to buy TomTom for my p990, I have established it will work, using the guam map, but would like to now purchase a version of it ...

However, I don't even know what to purchase, the DVD version only comes with US/Canada maps and the other uk ones are on mini sd?

Can someone confirm u can rip this onto a pro duo card and has it working ?

Hello,
I use TT6 on a P990i without any big problems but I have few questions :

1/ how can I increase the speaker volume before TT6 starts on the P990i in order to hear the voices ?

2/ When I receive a phone call (TT6 running) how can I hear the voice of the person who call me in the speaker ?

3/ If I connect a bluetooth ear set I can hear the voice of the TT6 and phone calls but not with the P990i speaker : is it normal ?

Best regards

Great work...

I managed to get a free copy of the Western Europe Maps V652 maps for my P990 as I had a free download voucher in my G0 700 box (All I wanted was the UIQ programme as I dislike being sold something I already own!).
What you can then do is simply extract from the Go 700 Hard drive to the computer via USB and then follow the previously detailed steps.

The Key*** works fine at activating the v652 map set from the Go 700 (and just fits on a 1Gb card). However the Key*** doesn't work with the Great_Britain_V650.1111.rar map set
Shame as I don't want to buy a new MS pro duo card just yet.

IMHO I think the map data too old to have been available at the time the UIQ interface was written, hence the device ID does not match the maps' expected ID range? Just my guess

Going to try the V650.1128 GB plus major european roads as this may be new enough to fit in the range?... I'll let you know the results....

***Update*****

Yes it does! Hurrah! I'm going with my theory the other maps were too old...

@ Datanode

You want to buy this
http://www.tomtom.com/product[....]ct.php?ID=260&Category=2&Lid=1

Tomtom Navigator 6 - Software and Maps of Western Europe on DVD

Others if you like it please do buy it, it's only £89 and well worth it IMHO.
And no I'm not being hypocritial, I'd already got the new maps and was annoyed I'd have to buy them again just to use on my P990i...

Hi all you experts ....

I have bee reading this thread very carefully but have still a few questions to HOW to get this TomTom 6 working on my P990i

I have installed the Tom Tom software and it now says "No Maps" .....

So my question is ....

How do I get the maps on there ..???

I have read the thing about activation by using the KEYGEN but WHERE do I put the MAP file (*.mdi) on the P990 ??

I can simply NOT get any further .. And I have no options in my TOM TOM software to point the program to the maps location ...

SO... Can someone PLS. try and explain very carefully ... Thanks VERY much for your help ........

Hi Orpheus,

It is simple.

1. Copy all folders to your memory card in the root.
2. Copy your map directory to your memory card.
2. Install TomTom either by selecting install application or just take out your memory card and insert it.
3. When you start TomTom the first time you will get a device ID. When you must copy your Guam.mid file to the keygen directory on your computer. Run # TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe Guam.mid from a command prompt. Write in your device ID (Caps On) and you will get a key to open TomTom.
4. When you have started TomTom, click on the arrow and a menu is shown. Choose "change preference" and click on the "manage maps" you will get all maps you have on the memory card. Just choose the one you want and you will get a new device ID.
5. Copy the *.mid file to keygen directory and run # TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe SE_DK_NO_and_FI_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid. Enter the key you get back on your phone and the map is loaded to TomTom.
