Does anyone know if the Arc will have a micro sim card slot like my iPhone 4? Or will it follow the normal size industry standard?

I would like to know because I could just swap the sim card into each phone. But looks like I would just have to get another PAYG sim. News is that Apple want to ditch the SIM card all together using some sort of on board sim that is updated instead. Apple like to change things to how everyone else does it..

Space, it shaves the plastic trim around the chip so the whole thing is smaller.

It doesn't have microsim. I do see the point of microsim, but the thing is that it's really stupid if only one manufacturer has it. I changed my sim to a microsim though I usually use non apple devices, and i hate the hassle with the converter and stuff. It was a stupid decision to have that plastic around the chip in the first place.

Hardly much point very fiddly & also the space saving is very minimal

it would be a point on larger scale, imagine all that parts not used for the millions of sims.. tht would be lots of savings.. But then its easier to loose micro sim.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc to feature next-gen multi-touch?

Sony Ericsson might have performed something of a 180-degree turn with the forthcoming Xperia Arc – going from no multi-touch on the X10 to 32-point multi-touch on the new device.

The possibility of such capabilities comes from the fact the Xperia Arc is apparently fitted with a Cypress TrueTouch-digitizer – you know the one. You don't?

It basically means the phone can handle up to 32 points of contact (theoretically) at once – none of this two finger nonsense, you can get your toes out and a mate's hands and still have touch points left.

that's just dirrrty!
