Lumis 900 is still quite pricey. It has larger battery, screen but the screen is not elegantly curved like the 800. I gone off Android

I wouldn't be looking to sell it if i bought one. Just looking for something else as i'm getting too used to android its too easy now.
Wouldn't sell my sgs2 either though and use one with my contract sim in until it runs out and my giffgaff sim in the other.
The Lumina 900 will be more affordable by then also
Why not just wait for a low cost WP8 phone? I wouldn't touch anything lower than WP8 at this point, as much as people will tell you that WP7 will get support and 7.8 the reality is that 7.8 aint bringing much in functionality, and with WP8 hogging the spotlight, developers are going to chase the money. I'd even advise picking up an N9 over a Lumia800, atleast MeeGo has a big dev community and they are always doing new and crazy things with those N9s and N900s if you dont want to go bored. You would be getting the openess, and great functionality your GS2 has, with a whole new UI and take on Linux.

Well,it won't bring a massive amount of new features, but the new homescreen is a nice addition. Resizable tiles and more fitted on home screen with no dead space.

The new Nokia Lumia phones will be rather expensive. The 920 over £449 & the 820 £379. But HTC Windows 8 handsets are gonna be 8X £379 & the 8S £229!! But,Nokia does WP best imo, also they have have more dedicated apps of their own than others all which are useful. WP 7.8 will bring a few new features but most important for many is the new home screen. Windows 8 is where the money and future is and it is gonna be great, but the Lumia 800 is a bargain now and I have been able to do all the day to day things with it that others can do i.e Android,iOS
220,000 apps and growing in the 100's everyday. Plus MS now say they have 46 of the top 50 apps of other OS's. Windows 8 is what 7.5 should have been & since being changed from Windows Mobile to WP it has come a long way in a year compared to age old iOS which has barely changed in years. It is smooth, fluid, zero lag never get apps or any phone crashing, restarting. The live tiles look beautiful updating and flipping over telling you what's going on. Not once have I had my Lumia crash on me. As for features missing, they are coming like BT file transfer,Zune is being scrapped in favour of a new file based drag n drop system. Yes,some formats are not supported but I never use anything but mp3 anyway
does not bother me. All in all,I much prefer Windows phone.

There is one little problem with HTC 8s. It has 512mb of ram. In the future that may become to less.
Lumia 800 and 900 will satisfy most people for the next year. If 7.8 gives us all that's possible.

Yes I do wonder what 512 ram will be like on WP8

512 on 8 will be the same as 256 on 7.5
enough to run the system but a problem with some apps.
