When you do so its fine, but if you go to format your memory card your phone will NOT ask for the password, it just formats. Dont panick, and dont format your phone. There is a file in c:/system/data/mmcstore which contains ur password for the card. unfortunately i had set a password and for some strange reason, one fine day, it asked me the password even though i had disabled it..i entered it correctly, the phone accepted it. I switched off the phone and since then my mmc is locked. To make things worse, i formatted the phone after that! Is there no way out of this? I can't believe a simple mmc can be messed up so easily!

Well 2 ways; first I'm guessing, if you made a backup to your pc then its possible that all folders including the "mmcstore" folder within the C:\ drive may contain the password which can be retrieved with a free java app called "mmcpwd" at symbian-freaks site. Secondly, and maybe more beneficial is to contact your local Nokia headquarters, like I did, explain the situation and they should request for you to send in the MMC - if provided with your phone - and will replace it; I'm sending mine in next Friday to Florida (Im in Canada, go figure) & hoping they'll give me a larger MMC - or better yet a DV RSMMC with the MMC adapter (N70 upgrade hoping for). Maybe you can tell them it happens with more than one brand of MMC & they may give you the upcoming Silver QD model for Europe,

sweet!
Hope things work out.

@Dr, now the best email service to protect against spyware or unwanted emails, is by setting up your own email server.
However, the best solution i find is with setting up 2 emails; 1 for forums and 2 for personal emails. Then if any spam emails show up in the spam folder then its easier to guys were its coming from.
