Sony Ericsson prepare new device with 3.5 mm jack. What it will be? Phone or smartphone? We will see it soon.

Mobile review and USEB have each shown recent SE patents for multiple input devices. The first uses a full touchscreen front panel where areas of the front become interactive button areas and the screen can change in size and orientation. This looks to be the making of a high end solution, specifically an SE Iphone killer. The second is a handset where the keypad is hinged so it can be lifted up and then rotated to reveal more buttons. Images show gaming controls on the other side. This patent looks to be primarily suited to a gaming device.
Many interesting patents have come from SE, but when will we see them? I am still very intruiged to see an implimentation of the 'dual slider' patent. This could only mean a phone with either a qwerty keyboard or secondary functionalities (eg gaming) on the side slider. I wonder how many of these patents actually make it into the final products, though.
