A passenger who was on the PH-Abuja leg of that ill-fated Sosoliso flight just narated the difficulties the plane heard trying to land in Abuja. He also mentioned some strange noise in the plane. He said no explanations were offered for all the weird things that happened on that flight.
IF THOSE THINGS WERE TRUE, I THINK FG SHOULD IMMEDIATELY COMMENCE A CASE OF INTENTIONAL MASS MURDER AGAINST THE OPERATORS OF SOSOLISO.

Not quite The "Rapture" will not begin to happen.... It will just happen - and then its over, all too suddenly.

My deepest condolences on the loss of a superb role model whose name is known even this far down South. A tragic loss of lives indeed.

On a more cheerful note, may all my Nigerian friends have a blessed and peaceful "pre-Xmas" fortnight. I can imagine that Nigeria is much the same as here, with crowds jostling in malls and arcades, roads congested and a generally festive atmosphere prevaling. I pray that the true spirit of Xmas reigns throughout our beautiful continent, regardless of the various religions and peoples who populate Mother Africa.

Yo Kryptik, thanks. Yuletide greetings from me to you all down south.
The christmas fanfare is missing here, I guess its all due mostly to parched pockets and the uncertainy that pervades the country.

Has anyone noticed how hard it is to get an MTN Gprs connection nowadays?

It depends on how you connect. A wap connection is easy to establish, its web that gives me hassles. I keep getting the message "gprs request rejected" MMS is worse. Even when it gets sent, the recipient cannot retrieve the message.
As of now, the gprs signal is completele absent. Vmobile has been my source of connection all day, but the timeouts are too frequent.

Different folks with diff tales. Down here at my end in Abuja, getting a connection takes two tries. Unbelievably, lastnite @ bout 3am, d download speed hit a record high(IMO) of 9.48kbps and sustained for bout 30mins. Did four downloads simultaneously under an hour.
