I spent the better part of today trying to configure GPRS for my brother but it's near impossible, plus I discovered last night that the phone is locked to Cell C. Tried calling their customer care and it seems they take off over weekends. I went online and had them send me the settings but it still won't connect...WTF?
@da wanqsta: My brother's basic requirement was a cameraphone with "real tones"...The C65 has a basic cam and can play .wav files which is quite good for a phone priced at R600.
Unfortunately missed the cricket namhlanje.

Ja nee, was just hauling out my school bag in preparation for the first day of the new term which starts tomorrow.
Brix, one would hope that Cell Sheep gets their act together pronto, the fact that there was nobody to take your call reflects very poorly upon them.

Taking a suggestion from my girlfriend I discovered that phone is not locked afterall. My MTN sim which I put in earlier was faulty.
Still trying to dowload settings though.

Hey chaps, did not want to bother you with this 'childish things' but I guess is better for me and Brix, if you take notice. Here is a copy of the message posted in the 'SE and EDGE' tread: As a introduction- I was warning a fellow Esatonian (Romanian) not to swear at other forum members , even if it is in a language they don't understand, and this was Brix's reply:

@mario: Why do you always have to take a stab at SE? I mean no-one here attacks your beloved Nokia with the venom you've reserved for SE.
@Brix, however strange it may sound, I like SE, especially their inovative ideas (I guess that's why I am here). Actually is Nokia and Microsoft I don't particularly like (althou I believe that both Windows and S60 are winning numbers)? Do you understand what 'curmurdar' means ? Do you understand what he said ? I am sure you don't. While we debate and discuss lots of points in this forum, I and others, do it in a 'civilized' manner. Just go to the Romanian forum and ask one of the chaps to translate it for you. He is swearing at just about anyone 'friend and foe'. I felt I had to defend a fellow South African, I should have defendet you aswell given the (legitimate) chance. It 'smells bad' to make comments and assumptions about things said, while you haven't got a clue what they really mean! You have done this before with me, if I remember right, and I did forgive you, but I won't do it forever, even if you are a fellow South African, with all what comes around it.

You are right, probably I should'nt have :-) Ironically you are the 'fellow South Africa' to whom the 'other' chap swore ;-) Anyway I regard the matter as closed and I won't comment about this anymore. :-)

We could've kept it in the "SE and EDGE" thread. I don't think my reply was offensive, just an observation from reading many of your posts which has been noted by other posters as well. They generally have a negative slant.
What urks me is the fact that you diss something when you've never used it and don't intend using it.
Comment can be subjective but should at all times be fair.
And no, I don't like Sony...just happen to like certain phones made by a company called SonyEricsson.
PS: Finally managed to get my brother's C65 hooked up to MTN GPRS...Cell C officially sucks.
