I think the setting "Mega Bass" makes the sound less loud. What it does is not so much gain the bass but makes the other levels sound less.

At the moment I have normal on.. but I have used Volume-level (don't know it thats the exact name of the setting since I have Swedish language. The bad think with that setting is that the middleregistry is so low..
Rock will also help the overall volume.

I know this has been asked before but I want back a few pages and couldnt find it.
Does anyone know what the price for the p990 is supposed to be when its released? I beleive I heard around $750 at one point but I am not sure. I am thinking of just getting one off of ebay for about $880 but if the retail price is going to be $100 less then that then I might as well wait.

Before getting the P990i, I was using the Nokia N70, the sound of the P990i is half that of the N70. That is how mediocre the speakers are on the P990i.
The battery life is not great and I've been seeing a 2% power loss for 1 hour of standby. As a result, I've to charge it twice daily.
HTH.

is it really that good?
someone did mention in the thread that the sound is very soft...
I am thinking of getting a HBH too ..
Will it drain much of the battery when using HBH

Hi everyone,
I am getting so confused about the release dates. O2 says 'Sept', Vodafone and Orange say 'coming soon'. SE themselves haven't replied to my emailed queries. It really wouldn't surprise me if they turned round and said '4th quarter'.
Is there anyone who works for these companies and might be 'in the know'?
I, like others, am genuinely considering something else despite my love of the P-series. I've been out of contract with Vodafone since April waiting for the P990i as an upgrade...I can't take much more of this!

I bought the retail for about 600 euro. (thats about 760$) But then I made a 18 months contract at about 20 euros a month... (But I can use the 20 euros a month to call for.. it's like a minimum charge...)
It's not branded.
Without the 18 month contract it would have been just over 700 Euros. (just over 900$)
