@DragonEye
SE should have released the phone with R1FA016.
You should try R1FA016 ASAP.
Fixes lots of things and makes the phone bearable and fun to use.

Dragoneye, I think you are force killing the alarm application with a task manager. I was doing it sometime back and faced the same issue.

@dragoneye,
When you say that the alarm only works sometimes. Do you any task killers installed...if so, that could be the reason why, maybe you are killing the alarm and need to set to ignore.

edit: saro_k_82 looks like we posted samething at same time.

Give yourself a favor...hand down the X10 and get yourself a new Iphone.

and a nokia too right?? seriously i'm giving subjective feedback on my experiences there's no need to go all fanboy in this thread the call quality is not that good especially since SE has had a huge track record of making phones..

if you have a x10 and a n86 give the call quality a test.. you'll be blown away with how much better the n86 is.

i'll give the ignore (alarm) in the task manager a try but i was testing it and even on reboot it didn't go off consistently.. i'm assuming i don't need open the alarm app every time i want the alarm to go off.. (the alarm icon is in the upper status bar)

not getting any updates on the x10a yet.. and i'm not paying for a davinci service or whatever.

There's no need to pay anyone to get access to the latest FW. Just follow the steps outlined in this excellent thread:

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=195467

And you should be able to de-brand your phone and get the latest FW fairly easily. I am also a little underwhelmed by the call quality/volume,but am holding off on de-branding because I have only intermittent acces to a PC, I run an iMac at home..

Just under a week in and the battery is improving but still not great, lets hope they fix those servers soon....

@Trickois

Thanks, I didn't see R1FB001 in that thread before when I unbranded it.. hmmm.. not sure if i should use that firmware or not.. I think it's just generic brazil can't tell if it's actually "the new" firmware everyone is waiting for.

I use a mac at home as well but can boot into windows via bootcamp. (i try not to use emulation for firmware updates though but people say parallels works fine too)

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had any of the following problems on their X10:

- Intermitent dropping of connection to the mobile network with phone showing no signal, and then refusing to reconnect until the phone is restarted (not a network reception problem as 2 other phones around me on the same network showed signal was strong)

- Calls to your X10 being routed to answer phone despite the phone having good reception (call forwarding is set to divert only when engaged and unreachable. Think I can rule out the network as calling other phones around me on the same network worked fine)

- Delayed receiving of text messages (as in delayed by hours, not just a few minutes). I can't definitely rule out my mobile network on this one, but starting to think it may be related to one of the above.

I'm currently waiting for a reply from regarding the first problem, but just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar....

According to Tech Radar the upgrade to Android 2.1 should be with X10 owners by Christmas.

Hey all!
Going back to the casing of the device and seeing that you can buy the white case for the X10 black, do you think some one will bring out a different colour casing (such as Dark Red or brown?)

This website has different colours for different phone but none for the X10, does anybody know where I can get one for the X10?

Just a quick observation about the upgrade that's slated for Q4.

DLNA would surely take the X10 one step closer to direct linking/compatibility of some sort with the PS3?

We live in hope...
