Qualcomm shows off Snapdragon 800 voice activation and photo editing abilities (video) Mobile
Qualcomm unveiled its new Snapdragon SoC flag bearer at CES, and here at MWC 2013 we got to see some of what the 800 series can do. Last week, the company revealed the chip's voice activation feature that allows users to wake the chip up using a voice command. We got to see one application of this technology used to launch Google Now using the keywords "hey Snapdragon," though when it makes its way into consumer devices, that keyword will be customizable. It was a limited demo, but the ability to wake your phone and launch apps without having to press a button (see: Siri and Google Now) is certainly an attractive proposition.
We also got to witness the 800's image processing capabilities when paired with one of Pelican Imaging's array cameras. Using images taken with that plenoptic shooter, changing the focal plane of an image or cropping out individuals from a group photo was easily handled by a Qualcomm prototype tablet packing a Snapdragon 800.

Just got an update from my SMC US contact, nothing with 100% confirmation yet, but it looks like:
Xperia Z - T-Mobile in April, should come with the JDIpanel and SD600 rather than Sharp and APQ8064 like EU/Asia. Xperia ZL - Offline $599, possibly on Sprint in early June.
AT&T have decided to go with whatever Sony are cooking up in 2H, I think the phablet and the Xperia T successor.
He just confirmed what I was saying all along

. By the way the Z and ZL in the US will be the same as international versions. No S600 only S4 Pro.
NO ZL for Sprint because it would require a redesign of the phone to support a CDMA network. The chances are very very low.
@ Ambivalent
I heard that the H2 flagship will be the same size as the ZL but the front will be more like a Z with more rounded corners . The back might be rounded as well.
This might be the display.
AUO's 4.97-inch Full HD AHVA display is made with LTPS process and has full HD resolution of 1080x1920 (443ppi).
AHVA (Advanced Hyper-viewing Angle) technology.

If the H2 flagship has both Z's look and life-proof capabilities as well as ZL's compactness, Sony will dominate Android's flagship market.

Why don't Sony go with WP8 instead of Firefox OS. I don't think Firefox OS will get much support from developers. I mean I don't think I would bother writing an app for it...

The Z's design is premium enough for me.
Along with the rest it'll be a dream come true.
