@coola: Stellenbosch-based Clockspeed Mobile makes games for phones but they're not quite in the league of say Gameloft or THQ but still it's a start.

SA Game Development is the closest I could find doing any sort of publishing on consoles.

Those should hire code gurus like us. Then they can make top games.

@bongzino: Are you into programming?
Clockspeed's games are quite basic...saw in a press release that they've got a deal to supply games to China Mobile.

Talking of mxit, I never quite got the hang of it so I deleted it off my phone. Don't quite get why I have to pay for moola when I do it for free.

That means the gaming market is still unexplored in Africa. I saw a documentary on Korea's gaming/comics industry. Those guys are world-class. What's up Africa?

We just don't have enough talent to produce top quality games.

@Brix I am into programming. It just that I don't have enough time to play with mobile development.

South Africans / Africans have good programmers, We are lacking ideas. Anyway before you know it. There will be Bongzino Application (TM) giving you world class mobile applications watch the space !

If someone can write a Java/Symbian application that allows me to control my DVD Recorder and switch on the lights in my apartment I'd be forever grateful and he'd be swimming in Bill Gates money.
