Cool Thanks. I was also wondering if there was a way to just use the flash on the camera as a flashlight? My old w800 could do that and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do it on the p990.

I miss that function too.
I dunno if other ppl have found other ways to do it
but it seems like you need to depress on the camera button slightly to
have the light on while not snapping a picture.

On the manual ... its call Photo Light ... so its function is to take photo.

no more torch light function

I don't have my P990 yet, but I read somewhere in this forum about how to use the flashlight as a torch or video light. I can't seem to locate the thread, so here is what I understood from it: Put the phone in regular picture mode, and then depress the shutter to focus and make the light come on. Then while still holding the shutter button, use the jog-dial to change to video. I think that should make the light stay on. Hope that helps.

Hey thanks Chris. That did work for the light. It isn't as good as having the light on its own but it does work.

Wow... after the first couple of days, the phone was not bad. Now, after the firmware update, you really can tell a difference with the response time. Worth it

In all the excitement emanating from you early owners, I've heard a lot of near orgasmic discussion about the bling but haven't heard anybody talk about the whole sync-ing software tool.

I love my P910 but I hate the archaic, slow and blunt sync interface. I use my P910 as my primary business and calendar tool and I like to keep all my appointments (not just the last 300 days) in my system but in the ugly sync software now I regularly get errors and kernel problems (especially using roadsync for appointments) and end up with duplications and all sorts of horrors. Not to mention the sometimes half an hour I have to wait for it to go through the sync-ing process.

What do you think - is the UIQ 3 version vastly improved?

Please tell me that the interface is seamless, pretty and much more flexible than the current version.

Let the rest of us revel in your orgiastic delight, while we suffer and wait in our backwater country's (who would have thought I'd be calling Australia a backwater country) for these things to swim their own way here.

D
