@SL33PYH34D and all
First of all i would gladly accept your comments for making my first post from my brand new MacBook pro!! It has a kind of P990 feeling but with tonnes more Ram and a fantastic processor..anyway..It is a very impressive pice of kit..
Yes, I hope that one of these days i will put my finger on what it is that P990 has that pulls me so much..
By the way thank you guys for all the useful infoon the TyTN ROM updates.

Hi all
I'm going to be such a pain, but I'm trying to decide between the P990i and the HTC, but I just can't come to a decision. I'm trying to read through this thread and all the ones on the other forums, such as Whatmobile, but there's so much to process I'm not really getting anywhere. Particularly because I'm completely new to Smartphones & their software, so much of it goes straight over my head!!
So... Can anyone post a really simple comparison of the 2? You know, good points and bad points of both?
I really would appreciate it, cause I'm just getting more confused and more indecisive by the minute!! Thanks...

@Libby24
to be honest if you are new to Smartphone ownership I would recommend the SE M600. This is very cheap for what you get and you really only miss out on the camera and wifi. I personally did not miss the wifi. It will give you a 'safe' start on your journey of discovery of what Smartphones can do and what you really need from them.

I'll second Jah. Our managers all have M600's and they love it. Sure a few of them have a seperate personal phone but most of them do not miss the camera. It's a nice smartphone to have. Personally I'm confused too but it's only because of this ram issue with the p990 that my faith is being tested else I'd not dare think about anything else.

My P990 is in its box now and only pulled out to do some beta testing of some software and to check things for questions here.
Now that I've found a TyTN without issues its my primary device and the M600 is the secondary so perhaps this thread title should be expanded to say P990 vs HTC TyTn vs M600
I suppose its possible that as I really do use wifi alot that if I didn't have the TyTN my choice might be P990 and indeed while I have been returning 2 previous TyTN to Expansys it has been my choice.
But at the drop of a hat I'll dump the P990 in favour of the M600 so yes, I'll agree with these latest comments

Hi you three, thanks for your replies.
Unfortunately I do very much need the camera, and I have already used wi-fi quite a bit on other phones, and it is something I'd really like. Particularly because I'm hopefully about to make a move back into a job with quite a bit of travelling, and logging on at hotspots in hotels, etc, will be great and mean I don't have to cart my laptop everywhere.
So that's why, for me, it's the Tytyn v the P990i for me...
From what I've managed to catch up on the P990i has memory issues & software glitches (though still new, so most will probably get solved), but on the plus side it's generally considered 'better' looking & feeling, and I also like the business card scanner. (Yep, I'm a gadget girl, so it appeals!) As for the Tytyn, it seems it's more stable, there are more downloads available for the WM software, it has .11g wi-fi instead of .11b, but doesn't feel as 'quality' as the P990i.
On the design front, I love the slide out keyboard of the Tytyn, but wonder if I'd miss one-handed texting, which I'd still be able to do with the P990i.
You see why I'm so confused!! (I actually did have a smartphone a couple of years back, so not a 'completel' newbie, but it was very different to what there is today so I still count myself a novice - mainly about the operating software that each use, rather than the functions of the phone)

So I've spent the passed three hours having a full on sesh with my cousins p990 (it's the first time he's let me hold it for more than 2 minutes the tight git). I've learned I can get it to crash on cue very reliably (or unreliably if you wish). But even better I think I've got a configuration sorted for my self so it doesn't crash.
I'm sure everyone who has one knows but it seems so simple if dull.
I only use one funtion at a time.
That way I don't keep many progs open at once.
Not 2 happy about it but I think I could live with it till they bring out some work arounds.
Plus the tytn just feels strange in my hands like a weird bar of soap.
