Sony Ericsson Japan has already added 3x optical zoom in SE so905ics and VGA video ( 30fps ). They can add this in C915 or C955...

Little info - http://www.itechnews.net/2008[....]omo-so905ics-cyber-shot-phone/

if the C905 won't record in VGA at least it should playback video at VGA@30fps

It would be very bad move if this phone can't record video in VGA 30fps... If that happens, will lose many customers again.. They made the phone almost perfect for taking pictures, and I think when it has the processor power to process 8MP photos, it would be able to record videos 30 fps at VGA resolution... The only thing need to make, is a GOOD CAMERA DRIVER...

@Mediar/Mr Lou

Cool yes - effective? Strangely, yes...to an extent

Even with decent optics, and the 'Bending lens technology' adopted from Sony's 'Cyber-shot' Cameras - the Optical Zoom still degrades quality...slightly - although, I strongly disagree that its an acceptable omission from the mighty C905.

Here are a few examples:

No Zoom Used:

3x Optical Zoom:

1x Optical Zoom:

3x Optical Zoom:

No Zoom Used:

3x Optical Zoom:

So, as you can see - its is effective, but to be honest - one hardly ever uses it. Ill try and take some shots in Ginza tonight, show you all how it fares in low light Zoom.

During the C905 announcement, a Sony Ericsson guy mentioned something about the C905 having similar chip as Sony Alpha. He didn't know for sure, but he thought he could recall someone mention this internaly in Sony Ericsson. It is for sure not the image sensor as the smallest Sony Alpha sensor dimentions are 23.6 x 15.8 mm. That would not fit into the C905. It could be the Sony Bionz image processor. Or it could be he got it all wrong..
