So just to confirm one of the rumored devices for next year is a spiritual successor to the Z Ultra? Very hopeful that comes to pass and that it has all the bells and whistles they can cram into it as I'd strongly consider replacing my XZ Premium with it. If it's the folding phone then I'll definitely do it.

That said, I'm still sorta hopeful that Sony Mobile will have some sort of cross-collaboration with PlayStation as the PS5's launching next year. MAYBE a proper successor to the Xperia Play would be nice since PlayStation Now is going to only get bigger and having physical controls on the phone would be amazing. At the very least some official clip-on controller accessories or something like that would be amazing

If they really want play big and create news, they should free PS5 with their flagship phone (but do the necessary corrective measures like battery size and wireless charging minimum ) . It will surely fight with iPhone sales ~ and if the flagship check all the necessary boxes, it will mean people get good user experience with long battery life, fast update and good camera qualities. Sony will flourish ~

Sony's new pixel structure reinvents dual pixel af with HDR.

I wonder if we'll ever see a qb sensor on an Xperia.

Interesting.
It eliminates the bigger gap between pixels, the main issue on Quadbayer.

i hope sony addresses the overheating issue. not sure why it went from addressing this and allowing phones to record 4K for basically until your SD card is full.

xperia 1 has overheating issues, which is really disappointing. i hope the successor addresses this issue. how can they market it as the ultimate mobile video recording phone when it overheats after 10 minutes of use? no good.

I hope they cover most or all cam bump.
For example , s11+ will pass 1 cm when you count camera.

Last year leaks started in early october.
Almost mid december and nothing.

They used copper cooling pipes before anyone else, then they moved to graphite layer with the xzp but X1 seems to have skipped any cooling. Either they got confident about the socs or they just didn't have money or time to use one. You know X1 was rushed, could be the reason. If x1ii is indeed 10mm I'm sure they'll implement some way of cooling.

Seems like all sd865 phones will be larger than their predecessors due to separate modem and 5g antennas. Sony probably decided to go bigger in the z axis. Ambient flow could make a slight come back to hide the cams but should be subtle and make room for a bigger battery. I agree about s11+ it looks unsightly.
