Hey Sarmad! Im using your cam driver with SPOT for some time now and am still reading older posts within this thread to get to know the driver and its functions better. Im confused about one thing; the NORMAL and the FINE mode - you once mentioned that in FINE mode the SPOT function is activated, in NORMAL its not, then again you say NORMAL and FINE are just different in exposure time. What does relate to which driver version (SPOT driver or no SPOT driver)?

Do you have a complete manual for the SPOT driver?

One further question: When Im in MACRO mode and INFINITY zoom (MACRO + 1.1) and Im pressing the shutter half it focuses, the rectangle becomes green and when I then release the shutter only the part which was in the rectangle is displayed. I can adjust the sharpness with the ZOOM keys. When I hen press the shutter again fully it is taking the picture.

Is that a normal behaviour?

My phone is a k750i, CID 36, R1CA021 - would there be have any advantage to upgrade it to a w800 in terms of camera driver? Might the quality be better then or colours or whatever?

Regards, pimpenner

I really really regret making the Spot Photometry driver now since I think most people don't know what its for.. not pointing fingers at you, but just overall I get a lot of questions about it.

Spot Photometry is a VERY special case where you only want to use the center of the image for the purpose of adjusting exposure.. there are very few times that you would actually need to do this, and I don't support it anymore. Fine mode turns Spot on, and Normal turns it off if I remember correctly, but I do not recommend you use the Spot version of the driver, use the regular one.

When macro mode is on, and you tap the shutter half way, then you get a Zoom Preview that lets you adjust the focus until it's just right.. (the zoom keys in Macro mode adjust the focus). This is normal but only needed if you really need to fine-tune the focus. In most cases, you can use Autofocus or use the zoom keys to adjust the manual focus from the regular preview image.

As for your phone... I envy you for having a k750 CID36.

hahaha ) thanks for complimenting my phone and thanks a lot for your reply!
I read some stuff about photometry and I noticed that most of the newer camera phones have this feature included or at least support it, too. That is why I came to the conclusion the SPOT function could be needful to take nice pictures more easily.
Especially this sample pictures (down at METERING) gave me the impression SPOT is helpful to take well lit pictures. But I think I will go for your advice and use the standard driver.

@pram_zx

To take low noise pics with SPU's driver in night mode first set the ISO to 100 (zoom 1.1) then set the AE lock ( starting at EV 0.0; right to +03,left to 0.0, right +03, left 0.0.) There should be a slight pause after the last left to let you know it's activated) After the AE lock is on set the Shutter speed with EV -1.0.
to remove the AE lock repeat the sequence or turn the camera, not the phone ,off then on

It's a quick explanation, sorry if it not clear

i like blksnaker's 9.22 on my w810
its fast and gives pics with no noise even in night shots
no need to adjust the shutter speed
for a night shot just move the ev to -0.3 and its done.

but I use Sarmad & SPU both on my k750, CID49, RED. They just rock.

@ pram_zx

i can easily take low noise indoor pic with increase(set) the shutter speed.
or turn on night mode.

for me,to get iso 100, just set EV 1.1, then change the shutter speed,if not enough light, turn night mode first
