Indeed, but perhaps, it's an incentive to upgrade.

I know the logic behind this might sound absurd, since there are already third party softwares to update like DaVinciTeam, SETOOL2, Cruiser, etc. However, when you compare the pain of having to update everytime with MONEY (for a better feature that the local firmware disabled) with a phone that's more powerful than it's predecessor in all capacity (and which has resolved most of what was in your wishlist), chances are, your temptations will overwhelm / provoke you into buying the upgrade.

Though a handful of us find this pain and hassle of updating with money (for the better feature) worth it, I am sure there is also an equal or above majority who support upgrading to a better model (3.2 Megapixels, Edge, 3G, WLAN, WiFi, etc support, better design, more space, more features with the previous issues resolved) - also a testament for SE that they are on the right track, and there is no need to look back at the bugs all the time - just resolving it in the next model will do since someone will buy it, if not you or me.

Perhaps tion could provide more insight into this email from SE?

@z3ky, This news of a new firmware is great news (probably an official release of R1BA013?). Are you (or indeed anyone else) able to shed some more light on what this firmware may entail? The forum that you link to is in a language that I am not so hot at!!

I agree that the K800 looks a good phone BUT after the FW for the K750 has caused so many problems and disappointment I will not be buying another SE phone whilst Ericsson write the FW.

I am waiting on the N80 since this has S60 OS which is stable.

I must admit I read the spec for the K800 and every few seconds thought 'that sounds good BUT the software won't work'.

Yet another new SEUSII out Version 2.6.3.3.
Open SEUSII and it should auto update to the new version

Hope the New Firmware is just behind it

I notice that SE are frequently updating the version of their SEUS installers.

Does anyone have an educated answer as to the immediate advantages of this?

maybe the developers are keepin an eye over these kinda forums....

It would be nice to have Voice Dialling on the K750 like the T610/T630/Z600.

Instead of having to remember whether you said the caller's full name or just their first name then 'mobile' or 'home'. So silly if the caller has a long name then you gotta say home, mobile, etc... after it without a pause.

Then there can be up to 4 voice tags per contact! Instead of just the one voice tag per contact like the T6x0.

I liked the T610 when I can just say the name of the person I want to dial, then it would beep at me again to say 'Home', 'Mobile', etc... So much more easier.

I wonder if SE would be able to change this via a Firmware upgrade?

Wrt the german e-mail, here's what Systran has to say:

"Very honoured customer, very honoured customer,

thank you for your inquiry to the Sony Ericsson call center.

Our Backoffice indicated us that it will give which to 11 a new update
in the calendar week the described conflict recovers. We would ask you
the update to bring in as soon as this are available. They find it
then over our on-line Aktuallisierungsservice within the area
"support" on http://www.sonyericsson.com/de

Please you contact us, if we can offer further support to you,
and visit you us also under www.sonyericsson.com. Here we offer
constantly new information and interesting supplies - e.g. ring of
tone or Virtual Phones."

I bet this has something to do with week 11 of the calendar year, which happens to be next week

Fingers crossed
