Yea! it's a bit confusing and disturbing. Even the spec in the manual I got in the box say BST-34! But the battery is BST-33! Can this be legal?

Some of you have siad that P990i is coming along with BST-33 battery however, if you read the white papers at Sony Developer website for this phone and the review at mobile review.com it is clearly listed that the handset come along with BST-34 battery.
Now thats confusing.

If they start shipping the phone in Sept with the BST-34 version, they will have to give to every person that has bought the phone prior to that a free battery!!!

There are laws about false marketing and so on.. and if they have relesed official papers and so that say there should be a BST-34 with the phone they might violate some law... and also, as I said. I have the manual I got with the phone telling me a BST-34 should be with it!
Stupid guys at the SE-support say that there is no diffrens btw the BST-33 and BST-34 in the phone! How can it not be? 950 vs 1120?? No diffrent?

Woo hoo!!!!! I finally got mine today. The eternal wait is over! It's time to officially change my avatar. This is really exciting. It is charging now.
I will have a play with it and then I suppose I'll get the opportunity to enter the discussion of all the problems and so forth. Bring on the bugs! Sounds like fun and I can't wait.
By the way, mine was manufactured in week 32 (06W32) and has the R4B001 phone firmware. So I suppose I'll be using SEUS as soon as it is charged. What weeks have everyone else's been made in?
Also, I think I read that doing a master reset will speed things up and give a little more memory? Was this correct? Or will it just be freed up after the update?
Sorry for all the questions -- I'm just excited. First impressions are excellent so far. Very sturdy, nice looking keypad, and I already put the screen protector on and it fits like a glove. I've finally joined the P990i Owner's Club! Hopefully I'll be browsing this thread later tonight on the phone! Have a great day everyone!

Contrats on joing the P990i owners club.
Mine is an 06W30 model.
A master reset probably won't gain you any operating RAM, and the firmware update will put everything removed by the master reset back anyway.
First thing to do when you're charged though is to get that firmware update done. It is well worth it, although its probably worth having a play with the device first just because it will show what an improvement the first firmware update has made.
RAM management appears to be much better after the firmware update so IMO there should be no need to master reset afterwards.

@grex
Cheers for the heads up, but unfortunately I never placed an order as I was waiting for confirmation that someone actually had stock before placing an order. More fool me. Seems they have looked about and realised they were the cheapest on their contracts so bumped the price to fall in line with Foneshop et al. Supply & demand and all that. Just have to stick with P910 until thay become more widely available and the price becomes more attractive.
Bugger.
