Zackbuks said it is WRGB with 900 nits.. Sony said while ago that it was 30% brighter than XZP.
900 seems too much to be pushed for that pixel density ..G7 can handle 1000 just for 3 min because of heat.
Was Xperia S the one with wrgb?
I hope IFA press is nice this year, like other years.
Last IFA was so dead.
Looks like they were there just to say: - Hi, we are " happy" to announce xz1 and xz1c. Thanks for coming!

Why did they stopped using it for few years?
The main point is to use less power than RGB LCD also easier to push brightness.

IFA is not a mobile centric show. Sony brought a lot of other products to the show, tvs, headphones, cameras, audio products, etc.

white magic screen (RGBW) has the benefit of brighter screen, but if sony is trying to compete with OLED screens, RGBW panels won't cut it. color quality, black levels, and the fact that they any resolution they claim (FHD, QHD, 4K) would be "pseudo" cause of the extra white shared pixel.
that's probably why they don't try to make it into the bigger screens. look at all of LG's "4K" televisions using RGBW panels. they suck. if sony used white magic displays and compared with OLED screens most of the high end flag ships use these days, they'd be dead in the water.

LG's RGBW(MLCD+) and WhiteMagic is quite different sub-pixel technology.

Well, I was hoping for some kind of reference, especially since white papers aren't published anymore.
Oh and that review isn't good IMO. He likes the unreal and overprocessed pictures of the Huawei P20 Pro.

Zackbuks says XZ2P will be the only dual cam phone from Sony this year, replying to someone about ricciolo tweet posted here earlier. It's just google translated, so meaning could be different.
