From ZOMG:
C670x - 4.8" FHD, 2GB, IP57, ZL size, 13MP, SD600. Replaces Z/ZL end Q2.
Z/ZL will not be getting SD600 now. Sony are shifting to a whole new SKU for it and unifying the size/waterproofness of ZL and Z into one device. Honestly this is what they should have launched at CES.
According to my source this is partially true.

The new device will not replace the Z and ZL it will be an additional phone that Sony will sell and it could be sold just in one market. From what I heard there is also a 5" phone for H2.
I was saying all along that there will be no S600 upgrade for Z and ZL or the Tablet Z.

Precisely. No company launches a device to discontinue it 3 months later. There's simply too much investment in terms of R&D that needs to be recovered. There is something called as a product life cycle and although its short for mobile phones, its not that short.
The S600 upgrade was always a no-go. Sony has never done that. Even if demand outstrips supply later, they will be clocked at the same speed so a marginal performance boost is all there will be.
So if you had decided on the Z/ZL, don't wait.

I will be getting the ZL in a few weeks. The H2 phones will not be that much better.

it Seems that C670X & C680X are both 2H Flagships , (correct me if I'm wrong).
C670X will be launched early June//July may be at E3
C680X will be announce at IFA in September [ real Second Half Flagship ]
what do you think ?
BTW, I already pre-ordered Xperia Z ..

If they use the S800 there will be a big improvement in both processing power and battery life.
