i just found another bug (they just keep coming) in the last firmware i could actually find songs in my track list by pressing some letter and i would go to the songs starting with that letter (just like you find names in your adressbook)
but now this thing doesn't even work at all. really crapp
by the way fullforce : i can't just understand how they can say that there are no known problems with the firmware. they gotta be kidding.

well the person that i spoke with told me that they hadnīt heard any complaints whatsoeverand i told them to really check out internet sites like esato and that people all over the world are raving mad at thier crappy firmware. . But another guy here at esato had spoken to another person at the call center and that person said that they were aware of (as i understood) most or all of the issues.
I have yet another bug (yes they keep coming!) in the "song list" the software canīt display letters the we use in the swedis language. The letter Å (donīt know if you can read it since you might not have support on your web brouser for foerign languages) Anyway, insteda of the letter Å you get something like #Ī. Isnīt it wonderful??
I donīt know if iīm gonna laugh or cry! Hehe!
One feels totaly screwed since one "upgraded" to the new firmware!

beleive me, the S//E developers/techinician in the department responsible for developing firmwares are fully aware of all the bugs mentioned on esato, they do read this forum, and they do make their own tests and have their own pilotgroups.
But the guys at servicecentre fronts are firstly instructed not to give a customer appearence of poor services by telling a customer "yeah, we know about all the bugs, let me tell you the ones you dont know about yet" and secondly most of the frontline servicepeople get no information about these matters either. Those that do, get it unofficially from friends inside S//E
They are just there to receive the phones and your complaint, do the odd firmwareupdate or smaller repairs every now and then, and send the phones to second or even third line servicecentres for repairs that require a litle more. They are not connected to the department responsible for developing the firmwares, and cannot answer any of your questions about whats going on. They just receive information when a new firmware is available on their EMMA server.
Any information you receive from a frontline service personal, is entirely dependent on how serviceminded the service personal is, and how clever he/she is at saying the things needed to make you feel that your complaint is being handled profesionally and leave you a good impression.

Yes off course, thats how it works. And probably works at all companies. But one could dream and wish for better and straighter info from SE call centre personel.
But anyhow- its a detriment to SE that they have bad firmware in combination of "so and so" information from their call centre. Maybe SE had really bad luck when the released these new firmwares but that canīt be more then max half the reason for everthing to turn out so bad. I mean they are not exactly beginners at this mobile phone business. Believe me i know, i have worked at Ericsson.

Hi everyone!
Discovered this forum today. i bought a w800 couple a days ago in Hong Kong and since I'm swedish I had to flash to swedish firmware.
Tried the R1N035 from davinci first and got the problem with transfering files. Updated to R1NA005 via the SEUS and the problem is still there.
Starting to get really pissed, I have spent the whole day with this now and all I managed to is to get 3 files over. Im only using the disk2phone util.
I'm starting to think that the problem is on my side. I relly don't think that SE would release a firmware version that can't recive files via the disk2phone.
But I really can't figure out what the problem could be. Either I have some old usb drivers or I have screwed up the MS when I flashed the phone.
I'm going to reinstall the drivers and try with another MS tomorrow.
Can anyone explain why it's not possible to go back to an older firmware. I can't think of any reason why it shouldnt work.

Tjena!
You could try this link:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=106754#post1462362
But the two latest firmwares sucks bigtime so i personally wouldnīt recommend them. And the old/first firmware is not avilable on SE:site.
Or take your phone to a SE service centre and tell them that you want them to flash your phone with the old/first firmware.
I should ad that most people say that you can re-flash your phone with older firmware, so lets hope that that is true!
Hope this helps.

Tjena tjena!
Talked to the SE support a couple of minutes ago.
They said they had never heard of the problem before. And he also said that id would be good if people told them abut the problems they have insted of writing in a forum.
Hmm, dont really know what to say scince I know a lot of you have been in contact with them.
Secon he told me to uninstall the old pc-suite and install the new one for the w550i 1.10.71 and to reinstall the usb drivers.
This it actually seems to work.
The new pc-suite is much better than the old one.
