Agree with batesie on this.

Since my W800 purchase I only tend to my zen in similar situations as batesie mentions above. My w800 takes a great picture, plays a mean tune and is always with me. It's just very convinient and handy for grabbing a bit of chill time whether it be walking to and from work or having a lunch break. The Walkman branding isn't a gimmick, they done a great job in combining it with other excellent features their phones offer to make some very capable multimedia devices.

Why shouldn't take full advantage of using such 'iconic' branding. You can be sure if Apple made phones they would be using their ipod branding all over them. Problem would be if you had to get the battery out for whatever reason, you'd have to send it back to apple for them to do it

is there such thing as ipod branding? lol?

youre right it isnt a gimmick, and it is a compliment, but SE are focusing too much. the W900 would sell like a hot cake if it had 3.2 megapixel camera and was silver.

I am totally for the Walkman phones! but they are going walkman crazy! how popular has the K750i been! it needs to get more non walkman phones out to compliment the walkman phones.

sure release more walkman phones but get the 'normal' phones out aswell.

I don't think they're making a mistake, they're selling, that is what they want, isn't it? I mean, everywhere I glance I seem to see W800's and W550's, even W900's now, they sell so well! I think this isn't a mistake, its market exploitation, (dare I say it), and it works for them.

I like the Walkman phones, I'd still use my iPod if I got one though, its just a consumer thing!

Probably not mate, but as I said if Apple made a phone they would be sticking Ipod all over it and that in itself would become branding the same way it has for walkman.

I know a 3.2 mp camera would be blo*dy great, the problem as I see it lies in ability to buy a lens for one phone only. Economy of scale means they have to do it across the range as they have with the current batch. They buy heap loads and keep the manufacturing cost down. They will take the plunge but I don't think just yet as even even the mighty P990 is having a 2mp unit.

Don't get me wrong, samsung have an 8mp coming out and I want one of those on my

But i love the W800 design, it was soo nice.

But this W810 is just .... full of play buttons and pause buttons and orange and walkman symbols it just gets on my nerves.

The new dpad of W810 works the same way as the joystick of W800, only with music function labels.
