absolutely. It is a truly amazing and wonderous world we live in. (okay it has it's bad stuff, but ever notice that the real bad stuff is human generated , not nature generated. Even something like the Tsunami offered an opportunity for humanity to grow spiritually. It is a massively sad event, but you could say that humanity needed something to remind us we are human, and nature gave us that through the tsunami. Why was it the poor who were affected? Because it is the rest of us who needed the lesson more. We needed to be reminded to love others as we love ourselves. Those who died in the tsunami weren't "punished" by a vengeful god. They offered (on a spiritual level, not consciously) to sacrifice themselves for the good of humanity. Now they are in the arms of God, and they are happy and content. It is us left who have to try and make sense of it.
And if you believe in reincarnation it makes even more sense, because those who died in the tsunami will come back, so they didn't really "die". Not that this justifies killing, since killing is an attempt to deny someone's free will. But it does offer hope that when someone dies their spirit not only lives on, but comes back to the planet as well.

@Max. That is spot on but sad for many may disagree it. I recalled few lines: Why we often hear of some one dying? Is this punishment less, for we go on living?

True. It those left behind who bear the burden of survival and grief.

From God to religion to beliefs to dying....
Interesting... this thread is good, but discussing religion will take ages. I congratulate JN for opening a thread like this... and those who responded seriously...
I for one dont agree people preaching in my face.. ia have my beliefs and my tradition and i strongly rely on how i was brought up to understand these things... and i dont need anyone showing me that theyre taking the right path and im taking the dumpster... but what i do believe and what i think ultimate is that... we have to make the most out of what life we are living in... and not be joyful for others mistakes and mock on them... i say a God is what people believe to be the greatest power, and with that i respect them, atleast i know that they knew they werent created by their own powers...if so, then maybe he can rule over us...
its a state of mind...

@ rockygali
I agree with what you said completely about there being a higher form of something that created us and I personally feel that is what should be respected, thats exactly the degree to which I hope mankind still believes...
