My phone gets a lot of use true, but it is kept in a high quality case so I do find it a bit much when it starts to fall apart! after such a short period of time and I feel obliged to let the manufacturer know when I am unhappy if that means I end up buying a better product from a different manufacturer so be it

As a S African I believe our buying public, in particular, is generally speaking far too complacent and passive for their own good...
I'm not losing sleep over my phone's build quality but it is IMHO one of the few flaws of this great phone. I would rather petition SE ( even in vain ) than subject myself to a different smartphone / OS etc .

With all that said I still don't believe that SE makes phones with poor finishing or that aren't durable.

I have to disagree on the wallet being the best thing to do, sure any business will eventualy take notice of falling sales but most businesses would rather know what their customers think long before they lose them I listen hard to what my customers tell me that way they stay as MY customers, it takes a heck of a lot longer to get and keep a customer than to does to lose them! I say let the manufacturers know whats wrong business people will listen.

i think se's build quality as in the material used in their phones is going from bad to worse...
the k750i had soft keys made of horrible cheap plastic...the lens cover of the w800i got loose in no time...the battery cover of the w810i was loose from day 1...the m600i has a wafer thin battery cover & buttons made of the cheapest plastic...the k800i has had a loose lens cover from day 1...the worst of the lot is the k610i which has cheap material written all over it & se has shipped it without a handsfree...even the p990i it seems has keypad buttons made of rubber...for the joysticks in se phones, the lesser said the better...
se phones used to have such wonderful build quality...it felt so good to hold the t610/k700i/p910i especially the s700i...the s700i was a super phone in all aspects of build quality & se has lived upto those standards even in the w900i but i'm afraid i can't say so for any of se's new phones...
i mean i would rather pay more & get a more sturdy phone made of better firmer material, don't matter if it is metal or plastic or alloy.
is it just me or there are other esatorians who believe so too???

My K800i is the best built and most solid feeling phone that i have owned. It is less creakie than the t610 and doesnt scratch as easy. I have no problem with my lens cover, it seems tight and opens and closes well enough.
