If you find your phone having lots of problem, go ahead and upgrade the FW version either from SE or DaVinci.

My w810i FW version is still R4CA029 and I haven't encountered any problem whatsoever so I'm not upgrading.

Well the only bug that i have on my w810 is the flashing light camara bug.
But this only happens when i turn on the flash and go to change some settings... for exemple turn the night mode on or macro mode. Then the light start flashing. But if i change the settings before i turn on the flash lights theres no problem.

The lights are not meant to flash when your trying to take a photo, they never did on the k750 and w800, now my w810i has new firmware, it does not do it either.

And, just to add, my phone is insured through my bank, and covered for all damage inc accidental damage.

Hey Einstein, this is the purpose of insurance. Accidental damage. You are a genius you know that. But I know for a fact that if SE detects that you have messed with the phone in any way, they will not honor your claim. Did I go to fast for you? Did I explain it well enough? I can repeat it if you desire. If you flash a phone it violates the warrantee. What about this do you not understand?

Hehe. I still wasnt getting an over the air update for my W810i, so just for a laugh, i thought i'd try it the old fashioned way, and tried the internet update service.

Lo and behold, a nice shiny new R4DB005 found its way down the wire, and my camera light flashing thingy has stopped!!!

Me is happy again.

By the way, its an 02 EU2 phone, no branding, all unlocked, as bought from CPW.

Have fun peeps.

Interesting topic , i've read that some people complain of hissing noise at W800i and W810i ... Now what's the deal .... I live in Canada (Montreal) and i want to buy SE w810i phone from Rogers company on a contract ....

Is there the possibility to make any further updates ... anybody who knows ?? ... otherwise what's the option ... to get an unlocked one ? ...

Thank You!

i only had a R1A w800 for 3 days but i didnt notice any hissing-my W810 now's gone from R4CE to R4CK to R4DB, and save for the intermittent popping in-between tracks/digital artifacts, audio performance has been more then good enough with the in-box HPM-

unlocked and debrand mean different things-if you want to use another operator's SIM, you can still get it from rogers, call them up and say youre travelling to another country and you need the phone unit unlocked. they'll give you a code and should walk you though the process of unlocking the unit. now, if youre after SEUS downloads, you need it debranded (as some operator-specific firmware have this taken out)

It's very sad then , and to debrand the phone means ......

The thing is that Rogers is the only company who sell around here this phone ... and i don't want another ..
